Rated 4 out of 5 by from Software included I replaced a epson v500 which included ABBYY software which had OCR. The software with the (ABBYY) V600 did not have OCR. ABBYY wants extra payment for the OCR feature. A Surprise and not a pleasant one?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great scanning quality and time saving software. I have two other scanners but needed a third one to increase the speed and quality of my scanning and to allow me to scan negatives. This scanner ended up being a great purchase on both counts. The negative scanning is terrific! It is fun to turn old strips into high quality digital photos. It scans at a high enough resolution to blow them up nice and big. The regular scanning is great also and the software allows you to scan several photos at once and draw outlines around them right in the tool so it scans just the photos but all at once. The only downside is that the scanner software seems to have some memory bugs and will complain that I need to close other apps even if nothing is open. A reboot of my PC fixes the problem. Also I need to reboot every time I shut off or disconnect the scanner. Mostly I do a large batch of scans at one time so it doesn’t bother me too much. Overall a great tool and a great purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What Is Going On I just bought this scanner and unpacked it. I continually received a message stating the scanner is unable to communicate with my Surface Pro. When it finally did scan, it scanned approximately 5 photos and then began to scan tiny little photos. It will not allow me to use the scan button on the scanner itself because "it cannot communicate". I have to use the scan icon on my desktop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner I bought this scanner a couple of years ago and I have been quite pleased with it. It is very easy to set up and use. Also the quality of pictures that have been scanned is quite good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A versitile accessory Am still learning how to operate the scanner, and discovering more ways it can be productive. So far, most work has been digitizing estate documents to share with family.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mixed review It works nicely for color snapshots -have done almost 2000 so far. So overall I am satisfied. There are a couple of issues. One is that on photos like glaciers on an overcast day there is grey sky, grey ice and grey water so it scans in black and white.. I tried to force it to do color by taking out of auto mode but could not figure out how to make it work that way. The setting were too complicated for me. Also after about 3 hours of scanning it gives the error message cannot connect to computer. I tried different USB ports, shutting off and on, rebooting the laptop. The only thing that works is 2 hours rest - maybe it overheats. The other thing that is really annoying is that the .img counter goes to 999 and then starts over. So in one folder I hit 999 and it went back to 1 so I had to rename all the rest of the pix from 1000 - 1050 so they'd be in sequence then when I started a new folder for a new batch they reverted to 001 and are on the way to 999 again. Had to do that twice when it hit 999.
