Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to setup and use My son bought this to digitize my plethora of photos, over 40 years of photos. In a month we have finished and organized a life time of photos. It's quick and easy to use and now my memories are (hopefully) safe. The hardest part was taking the photos out of the photo albums and putting them back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Scanner - Windows 11 Issues I really love the product. The purchase was long overdue. But I have spent 3 hours reinstalling the software tonight after windows 11 upgrade left laptop "unable to communicate" with scanner. Last try - If it doesn't work I will return scanner.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Setup Challenges 1. To register the product it is required to enter the unit's serial number. However, nothing shows where to find the serial number. So, one has to guess which of the numbers on the label to use. 2. Much more importantly, after going through the entire software setup, wifi enabling and registration process, there was no way to get started scanning. Reloaded the software. Still didn't work, and no error message. Only worked once I decided to plug the cable into the computer. 3. Once I got it working, it scanned pictures exceptionally well. The current problem is to figure out where the pictures are once they are scanned and how to share them. Again, hard to find the answer on the help website. 4. Someone more computer-savvy probably wouldn't have these problems ...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Weeks worth of scans in less than one evening So my new Epson FastFoto FF-680W arrived today. Eventually I opened the box, took it in my home computer room, and set it up via wireless. No effort needed. Next I grabbed a stack of about 20 old photos. Less than one minute later they were scanned. So I did another batch, then another. In a very short time I had scanned over 300 old photos. Using my flatbed scanner, that would have taken days. If it continues to perform like it did on this first go, I am going to love this thing! I still have boxes filled with photos from my parents and grandparents (1920' - 1950's), not to mention of my kids and grandkids (1970's to present), to scan...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EASY SET-UP WOW!! Just opened it. What a breeze to follow the direction card. It is up and scanning. Resolution and speed are great!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Won't permit photo editing The actual scanning is easy, efficient and very satisfactory. However after 6 months of no problems the scanner has taken control of photo editing permissions. Permissions can be changed one picture at a time in Windows Properties, but this defeats the benefit of being able to scan many pictures if you then have to go in and reset the properties of each one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic scanner I've had this for almost a year and I love it. It works fast and scans just about any size document. It's really helped me get organized and I'm now almost completely paperless. I went from 5 file boxes down to one and a half. I plan to start scanning my old photos over the winter. I've done some already and had no issues.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Finicky - Apply compatibility problem? I bought this in September and it took a long time to set up and it stopped working after about 560 scans (software problems). Perhaps not very compatible with Apple?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Fast but terrible quality. I recently purchased The FF 680W in hopes to get better image quality in the photos I scanned compared to my document scanner. However, I'm very sorry to report that the quality of the images is very poor. It's great that you can scan quickly and at high resolution but it's negated by the terrible "noise" and grain present in the images.
