The separate photo and CD trays have come in very handy. I have not had any problems with the tray as a few other reviewers have. I really like the compactness of it (i.e. it doesn't have a paper tray that sticks out the back) and the flat top allows me a place to stack things I've printed out that I will get back to later. I don't find that the ink is any more expensive than any other model, but I wish it was sold in more stores than just Staples in my town. The photo printing is fast and the color perfect. The photo correction is excellent, and I no longer use the computer programs to do this. In fact, if I have to put a title on a photo, I do it in the computer program and then transfer it to a memory stick and let the printer correct and print the photo. It does an excellent job of increasing brightness on underexposed photos. It also does a great job in printing on CD's and DVD's, allowing for easy correction of positioning if necessary. If I were to criticize anything it would be the position of the CD tray under the control panel and LCD screen making it a little difficult to load a CD or DVD.
