Our drawer height is 12 inches, when it is closed. When the 8.5 inch by 11 inch paper is loaded in the paper supply slot on the back of the printer, it extends 12.5 inches from the base of the drawer. If one only half-way extends the supply paper guide, then the paper can flex backwards, and the paper then only extends 11.75 inches above the base of the drawer. It all worked out for us with this workaround. But none of this dimensional information is easily accessed on Epson's website, or anywhere else for that matter. I did a lot of research on Monochrome Printers and felt that the Epson offered good value for the money. Epson has a good reputation and I like the printer and it has performed well.
