This printer cost me about $80 new.  My home computer environment is essentially all new Apple gear.  I downloaded the recommended app onto my iPhone and used the app set up routine.  It wasn’t perfect but it was pretty good. There are a lot of steps, especially during the printhead alignment routines.  It took me a few minutes to figure out what they were asking for when selecting the squares that looked best and how to enter it on the front panel of the printer.  The only thing I can say is on the first one you have to select one square from each role and whatever number that square is you have to enter it on the front panel and then advance to the next role and do it again, but once you figure that out all the rest is pretty easy.  \n\nAs for the overall quality it’s pretty darn good for an $80 printer. The print quality is very good and it scans and copies super easy.  The print speed is really good too I was actually surprised.  \n\nIn terms of colour print, it does business level graphics and stuff really well.  In terms of being a photo printer considering the cost and that it only uses four different ink colours, it does pretty good when using glossy photo paper. Before you know it you're printing from your phone! \r\n\r\nOnce the printer was ready to go thanks to the phone app! I needed it setup on computers around our house. The first computer I setup was waaaaay on the other side of the house. I first tried setting up the printer with Windows add printer set up. It found the printer with no problem. I had to hit setup and then run across the house to get there in time to hit accept connection on the printer.  This took several attempts, but I got my workout in for the day running across the house! Once I got the connection on my computer it said, \"Driver is unavailable.\"  I then got out the instructions, downloaded the software from step 6 in the instructions. The software wanted to take me through complete setup of the printer again and that was not needed. I didn't see just the drivers on the website so I clicked advanced setup and was able to get the printer installed. Now, I have to do this on 3 other computers in our house. For less tech savvy users I think the instructions need to include what to do for the second computer you are installing the printer on so you don't have to do all the setup steps. \r\n\r\nPrint quality is great and I love the scanner! It should print photos out of the box at least well, if not perfect. It took just over a minute to print one picture.\r\nDocument printing is crisp, quick and clean, both black and color. I will say that the ink cartages are a bit smaller than what I am used to. The life of the cartridge seems comparable to others but will likely need to be replaced sooner because of the smaller size. \r\nI really like being able to print directly from your phone. I was able to do an Amazon return from my phone app without having to go to a computer to print the return label. I would have expected the printer to provide good quality prints and be easy to use and it falls flat on the second part. \r\n\r\nLet me preface this with the fact, that we can all agree that for all of time printers seem to be the most difficult devices to work with.  I have had low expectations on the usability of printers since I started using them.  This one is almost the worst one.  It all started when I plugged it in to start the setup. I currently have an Epson with 702 cartridges and this one uses 222, but they look very similar, not good for the consumer.  The cartridges were more difficult to install than my other Epson printer.  I then moved on to connecting the printer to my Wi-Fi.  The printer displayed showed a QR code which directed you to download an app to your phone.  This was a good idea but bad execution.  I tried finding the printer 2-3 times in the app without any luck, so I gave up on using the app.  I went through the prompt shown on the printer display.  This brought up another quirk, the display isn’t touchscreen.  The UI works but takes some getting used to and the lack of touch screen made it more difficult than it should have been.  There is also some irony of the the sticker that comes with it that states “Effortless operation…”   I would disagree with this 100%.  I was able to get the printer connect to my network and then was prompted to update the firmware.  This was yet another odd experience.  The display told me to update and gave me the prompts of “No, Later” or “Dismiss”.  This wasn’t what I would expect from a prompt to update firmware.  \r\n\r\nAfter the very loud ink setup I did the cumbersome printer head alignment with the non-touchscreen.  Finally, I was able to print a few pages for my kids’ assignments.  I went to use the network scanning feature and this printer requires different software than my other Epson printer, fine, that’s how technology work anymore.  The issue is when I used the suggested software the printer couldn’t be found once again.  The accompanying app on my phone will find the printer but my Mac will not.  I’m not sure if the printer doesn’t play well with mesh networks but I seem to be having issues with it.\r\n\r\nThe scanning works as expected but I did notice that when you lift the lid to the flatbed scanning surface there is a flap that stays up.  This then needs to be manually pushed down.  This is an odd design for a sleek printer\r\n\r\nOverall, the printer has a nice footprint and is compact for the features it has.  I did find the page holder tray to be large yet flimsy.  The pattern on the adjustable front panel adds a nice touch.  I am confused about the pulsating power button.  I’m not 100% sure why this was chosen, but there isn’t a setting to change it either.
