When should I use the optional Matte Black ink cartridge?

You'll get the best results when printing black text or black & white images in color mode using the optional Matte Black ink cartridge. The Photo Black and optional Matte Black ink cartridges are compatible with different paper types and Print Quality settings, as described below.
