4K PRO-UHD1 Projection Technology

A new type of 4K home theater experience utilizing advanced processing for resolution enhancement, color, and image processing – resulting in an exceptional 4K home theater experience.

The Most Important Aspects of Visual Performance Handled with Advanced Hardware Processing.

4K Resolution Processing Technology

Advanced pixel-shifting technology precisely controls three-individual high-definition LCD chips to parallel process millions of pixels. This new type of resolution enhancement technology results in an exceptionally sharp 4K visual experience.

Advanced Digital Imaging Processing

Realtime 12-bit analog-to-digital video processing for smooth tonal transitions, while helping to eliminate banding, blocking, and other compression artifacts from the final visual performance. This powerful processing technology faithfully reproduces the source material the way it was intended to be shown.

10-Bit HDR Color Processing

Full 10-bit HDR3 colour processing accepting 100% of the HDR source information to faithfully reproduce HDR content for an exceptional visual performance.

Epson UltraBlack Technology

Epson created a proprietary Compensation Filter that controls the polarization of light itself. This allows Epson to suppress any stray light within the signal, producing an outstanding Dynamic Contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1.

Only available on HC5050Ub and 5050Ube.

Extreme Color Gamut.

One of the first commercially available home theater projectors capable of displaying the full three-dimensional DCI-P34 color space. This extreme color performance is 50% wider than typical 1-Chip Rec. 709 projectors and allows for a truly professional-level of color accuracy.

Only available on HC 4010, 5050UB, and 5050UBe.

Here’s What People Are Saying.

"It was truly stunning, there is something to be said about a visual home theater experience that makes you forget you’re not out at a commercial setting.”

G Style Magazine

“The resolution and detail observed from the 4010, aided by the 15-element glass lens, is tremendously sharp and dimensional, and suffers no observable smearing, or other artifacts.”

“Epson is challenging the notion that great 4K HDR home theater projection needs to cost a lot with its Home Cinema 4010 4K Pro-UHD Projector.”

AVS Forum

“Epson’s new $2000 Home Cinema 4010 ‘Pro-UHD’ projector massively shifts the playing field here.”

Missing Remote

“Epson has just announced their new Home Cinema 4010 today, a projector which promises to be a stellar addition to their lineup of 4K capable projectors.”

True 3-Chip Projector Design

Advanced 3LCD technology ensures 100% of the RGB color signal is displayed for every frame. This ensures outstanding color gamut while maintaining excellent brightness, without any “rainbowing” or “color brightness” issues seen with other projection technologies.

Introducing the Epson Precision Lens

Designed for zero-light-leakage, all Epson Precision Lenses utilize a proprietary 15-element precision glass structure for outstanding image clarity and edge-to-edge focus uniformity.

Only available on HC 4010, 5050UB, and 5050UBe.

Unique 15-Element Aspheric Glass Structure (AGS)

Epson precision cinema lenses feature a unique 15-Element Aspheric Glass Structure (AGS) that shifts the focal plane to the inside of the lens structure itself. Not only does this ensure surface dust is not visible on the final projected image but provides outstanding overall brightness and focus uniformity.

Optimal Modulation Transfer Function (MTF)

Epson precision lenses are designed around optimizing the Modulation Transfer Function in order to ensure superior resolving power at any zoom level. This not only maximizes the performance of our unique 3LCD Projection Engine but ensures a professional-level of color accuracy while eliminating virtually any chromatic aberration.

Precision Manufactured by Epson

The lens is a critical component within the overall projector design. This is why Epson decided to develop precision lenses in partnership with some of the world’s greatest lens manufacturers. Utilizing an advanced form of fusion & cooling, Epson precision lenses combine over 100 raw materials into pristine glass lens structures – rivaling some of the world’s most precise lenses.

Extreme Focus Uniformity

Utilizing advanced manufacturing processes allows the Epson precision lenses have up to 35% better Focus Uniformity than virtually any other projection lens available today. The result? Epson precision lenses are capable of faithfully displaying the source material without reducing image brightness or detail.

3-Axis Precision Motorized Lens

After installation, you can shift the lens 47% left or right on the horizontal axis and 96% up or down on the vertical axis. You can also set the zoom and focus, then store all the settings in one of ten lens memory presets.

Only available on HC 4010, 5050UB, and 5050UBe.

Epson Digital Lamp Projection

Epson Digital Lamp Projection is unique within the industry. The key to utilizing lamps to provide the main light source within a projector is to precisely control the wavelength of light being delivered by the lamp itself.

In order to precisely control the wavelength of light being delivered, Epson engineers specifically designed the lamp and the 3-Chip Projection Systems to work together. Not only does this deliver a more consistent visual performance from the projector, but ensures the correct color of light is used within the Epson 3LCD Projection Engine. This results in outstanding overall color and white brightness performance, while optimizing overall lamp life.

Since 1953, Marantz remains true to the pursuit of pure musical reproduction. It’s what drove founder Saul B. Marantz when he tinkered in his Kew Gardens, NY basement to reproduce music as it was meant to be heard. It’s what drives Marantz today. A classical guitarist with an innate ear for pure sound, Saul B. Marantz was dissatisfied with the amplifiers of his time – so he built the amplifier that could reproduce what he yearned to hear. He didn’t know it then, But Saul B. Marantz himself was the first customer.
