My product won't feed paper. What should I do?

  • See Paper Problems in the User's Guide if paper sheets won't feed correctly, won't eject fully, eject wrinkled, or jam in the printer. Also, see Paper Problems if roll paper doesn't feed correctly or jams in the printer.

If the printer will not pick up paper sheets and load them into the printer, try cleaning the rollers as described below.

    Caution:
    • Never use a hard or abrasive brush, or benzine, alcohol, or thinner for cleaning; they can damage the printer components and case.
    • Don't get water on the printer components and don't spray or apply lubricants or oils inside the printer.
    • Don't use any cleaning sheets included with special paper; they may jam inside the printer.

    Clean the printer's "D" roller:
    1. Turn off and unplug the printer.
    2. Use a lint-free, damp cloth to gently wipe the roller identified in the image below. Do not spill liquid in the printer.

Clean the rollers inside the printer:
    1. Turn off and unplug the printer.
    2. Push in the bottom of the output tray. The tray opens and moves up.
    3. Lift up the printer cover and press in the top of the CD/DVD tray guide.
    4. Lower the CD/DVD tray guide.
    5. Use a can of compressed air to blow air from right to left in the slot above the CD/DVD tray guide. This cleans the rollers in the printer.
