I installed new ink cartridges and my product seems to be doing a long cleaning cycle. Is this normal?

• Yes. It takes several minutes for the product to prime its print head when you install the first set of ink cartridges.
  
  Note:
  Wait until priming finishes (you see a message that charging is complete) before you turn off your product, or it may prime improperly and use excess ink the next time you turn it on. If the product stops moving or making noise, and you don't see a message that priming is complete after about 5 minutes, turn off the product. If the blue status light is flashing when you turn it back on, contact Epson technical support for assistance.
