Why won't my product do a self-test?
- This problem is commonly caused by not holding down the required button long enough. Power-on the printer while holding down the Cleaning button until the printer starts to load the paper. If the print head moves back and forth but there is no ink on the page, wait until the print head stops moving, then perform two cleaning cycles (Cleaning button). Try running the self-test again. If the self-test still shows no ink on the page, ensure that the ink cartridge has been installed properly. Lift the olive-colored ink cartridge clamp, but DO NOT remove the ink cartridge, then lower the clamp until it clicks into place. This will ensure that you have broken the ink cartridge seal. Try printing the self-test again. If you still do not see any ink on the page, perform two more cleaning cycles. You may need to run several cleaning cycles before the print quality improves. If this does not correct the problem, the printer may need to be sent in for service or if the printer is within the dealer's exchange period, have the printer exchanged.
