My printout has lines running through it. What should I do?

Run the nozzle check utility from the printer driver Utility menu to see if a head cleaning is needed. Run the Head Cleaning utility, if necessary, to clear any clogged ink nozzles then run another nozzle check. Repeat the head cleaning and nozzle check if necessary.
Select Automatic as the Mode setting on your printer driver's Main menu. Make sure the printable side of the paper is face up in the sheet feeder. Check the error light. If the light is flashing, replace the appropriate ink cartridge. Make sure that Maximum is not selected as the Printable Area setting in your printer driver. When this setting is selected, banding may occur in the expanded area. Make sure that the Media Type selected in the printer driver is appropriate for the type of media loaded in the printer.
