Why is an ink change from Photo Black to Matte Black shorter and why does it use less ink?

Because Matte Black ink can easily cover a small amount of Photo Black ink, the printer does not need to spend as much time cleaning the Photo Black ink from the print head as it does when cleaning the Matte Black ink.
