Nothing projects on the screen. What should I do?
-
Try the following:
- Check that the Power light is green, not flashing.
- Press the A/V Mute button on the remote control to see if the picture was turned off temporarily.
- The projector may be in standby or sleep mode. If the Power light is orange, press the Power button to turn on the projector.
- If you've connected a computer, it may also be in sleep mode or displaying a black screen saver. Try pressing a key on the computer.
- If the power was switched off and then on again, the projector may be cooling down. Wait until the Power light stops flashing and remains orange; then press the Power button again.
- If you are projecting from a video source, make sure the Video Signal setting is correct. See Adjusting Signal Settings.
- Check the Brightness setting in the Image menu (see Adjusting the Image) and adjust it if it's set too low.
- If you are projecting from a DVD player or other video source, make sure you turn it on and press its Play button.
- You can also try resetting all of the configuration menu settings. See Restoring the Default Settings.
- Make sure your cable(s) are connected correctly. See Setting up the Projector.
- If you've connected a laptop computer, make sure it's set to display on an external monitor. If you're using a PC notebook:
- Hold down the Fn key on the keyboard and press the function key that lets you display on an external monitor. It may have an icon such as , but it may also be labeled CRT/LCD. Allow a few seconds for the projector to sync up after pressing it. Check your laptop's manual or online help.
On most systems, the key lets you toggle between the LCD screen and the projector, or display on both at the same time. Allow a few seconds for the projector to sync up after pressing it.
If you connect the notebook while the projector or computer are already turned on, the function Fn key that changes the computer's image signal to external output may not work. Turn the computer and the projector off and then back on again. - Depending on your computer's video card, you might need to use the Display utility in the Control Panel to make sure that both the LCD screen and external monitor port are enabled. See your computer's documentation or online help for details.
- Make sure the projector is connected to your Macintosh.
- Select System Preferences from the Apple menu and click Displays.
- Click Detect Displays.
- To display the entire desktop on both your projector screen and LCD screen, click the Arrangement or Arrange tab. (If you don't see this tab, make sure it isn't hidden by another window.)
- Click Mirror Displays in the lower corner of the screen. One of the monitor icons automatically moves on top of the other.
