Rated 4 out of 5 by from Relatively good slide scanner Reasonable price for good quality scans. Tedious to use, since you can only scan four slides at a time, and it takes a long time per slide at the highest dpi setting. The computer would not communicate with the scanner after the initial installation. Fairly easy fix - I had to download a new driver and restart the computer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Typical average performance Bought this scanner in anticipation it will work on my iMac Pro OS Big Sur, but no cigar, there are no drivers available for this scanner. The store assured me it will work fine on iMac. Epson support has no solution at this time. Luckily I also have Microsoft system Win 10 pro OS, it works fine on this platform.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from No instructions at all Unless you already know how to operate this scanner, do not buy it! It comes with nothing at all, and although there is an on line guide, it tells you almost nothing. You are totally on your own, and I haven't figured it out yet. If I hadn't lost the receipt I would return it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I'm impressed with the scanner. Epson Support is non existan I purchased my scanner in January. It works very well. Apple updated my macbookpro to Big Sur and SilverFast ceased to function with the new OS. I have tried to contact Epson Support and have not had any response from Epson. I'm very disappointed with Epson Support. My original plan was to use the scanner and the macbookpro together. That has not happened since the update. I'm currently using the scanner with a much older and slower laptop... To be frank... I'm extremely disappointed ! ! !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Museum Work Horse I've been taking, developing and editing photos since 1972. Once digital began I was skeptical at first but now...I would't have it any other way. What a delight and solution to so many photographic problems. Which brings us to the Epson Perfection V600 Scanner. I volunteer at the local historical museum and since one of my skills is photography, it was a natural for me to step into that spot which had become vacant. It became evident we needed a quality scanner. After much research, we bought the V600. What a marvelous decision. The learning curve was not too steep since an e-manual comes with it and there are many YouTube videos available. Cleaning old negatives, slides and photos is a cinch. and control of image size simply requires making a selection from a drop down list. I've scanned negatives and slides as old as 60 years and this scanner's editing/scanning system provides spectacular results. It has never failed us no matter how bad the original was. I will say this, however, if the negative, slide or photo is too badly damaged, simply scanning and saving to a thumbdrive brings great satisfaction to the family. So thank you, Epson for making such an excellent scanner that can be truly depended on no matter the condition of the original.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great hardware, software could use updating I'm happy with the results I've gotten but I wish it didn't take so long to scan negatives. I understand there is an Epson 2 software update that greatly helps with this but is only available for Mac. Please consider making the update available for windows as well. I also wish that when I scan a negative, the scanning preview area wasn't so small and hard to gauge how it will actually turn out. And I scan the whole film strip because letting the software crop the frames on the automated mode doesn't preserve the full image, I have to crop them manually on a very tiny part of the screen. Sometimes I've been tempted to scan a negative at different exposures and combine the details in photoshop using a HDR merge setting. I wish that could be an option with the scanner. So like I said, great results and equipment, wish the accompanying software was better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Outstanding features, especially in fill automatic mode I have used this scanner to scan over 3,500 pages of photographs and slides and the results have been consistently outstanding. I have been copying and saving both copies and jpg files of family photographs of my wife's late Mother to share with my wife's two sisters and other family members, who are happy and grateful that they now have these memories to enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best photo scanner in its class I've ever operated The V600 Photo Scanner is the best in its class that I have ever operated & am glad I finally acquired it as I gear up to archive a trove of family documents & photos. So far it has interfaced with a number of applications - everything from those that were included with it to a range of others (e.g., Office & PDF apps) - results of which have been stellar.
