Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Printer - Sort I just purchased an Epson SC P800 - my first quality photo printer ever. After printing several photos out of Adobe Photoshop CC I got this error message: There was an error opening your printer. Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopened any documents". Worked with Apple support initially until they finally said this is not an Apple issue. Attempted to contact Adobe support with no luck. Search the internet and found that many have had this same issue with both PC's and Mac. The simple fix - hoover over Print and then press and hold space bar didn't seem like a very good solution. Several posts suggested uninstalling and reinstalling the print driver which I just completed. Hopefully that will fix the problem. Why can't Epson, Apple and Adobe learn to play nice together?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Printer is junk I bought this printer about 6 months ago and after a month of working ok I have spent countless hours trying to get a decent print. Now it won't print at all. A waste of time and money!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great color--great quality! I bought the P-800 several months ago so I could print 16 x 20's both on paper and canvas. My prints hang in a two local galleries and they need to be the best. Combined with an Apple, Epson is the only choice.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Printer for sheet paper Great printer for sheet paper. Do not even try the roll feeder. Save your money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Screen Printers Edition I cannot comment on the picture quality from a photo standpoint. what I can comment on is from the blackness of the ink. We as screen printers need the blackest most opaque film positives to burn our screens. Generally, we change out the cartridges to a continuous ink system and buy a special ink to make our film positives black so no UV light can sneak through. I've now printed 20+ screen positives and burned them onto my screens. I can say that from the quality of my burned screens, I DO NOT foresee needing to upgrade from the stock cartridges. Why change what works? Thoroughly happy with my purchase and the roll feeder helps me keep costs down. When I purchased my printer, the screen printers edition was not available, so I had to piece it together. So I cannot comment on the Epson film either. But I'm sure it's just as good as their photo paper.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from printer won't work bought the printer a few months ago, nervous about starting it, seems for good reason. Followed instructions for starting, and when trying to check print head alignment, got error message 0x1126 and message to turn off printer and check documentation. No reference to error message 0x1126 in user manual or online(except for windows, and I use mac high sierra). I wish I had never bought this expensive piece of furniture or boat anchor.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Impossible to Use This printer is impossible to set up and print on. We bought it for our office and every time I go to use it, I spend well over an hour resetting, reloading, and trying to connect my computer to it. We have six other printers in our office, all hooked up in a similar manner and we rarely have issues getting them connected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Printer. Worthy successor to 3880 The printhead on my 3880 was in need of replacement after 7 years of service, so upgraded to the P800. This printer is a replica of the 3880 in many ways, but in some important ways is a definite improvement. Most significant are, IMHO, are: 1) An inkset, along with improved profiles from Epson, and Ilford respectively to their respective media, which produce meaningfully improved congruence between calibrated monitor and printer output which really makes attention to small color and tonal variations in Photoshop worthwhile. 2) Availability of roller paper option, for panos and high output multiple prints(although I have not used it and cannot comment on how well it functions), 3) more user friendly GUI to access various menus and ink cartridge status, even with a tilt out option of the control module for easier access 4) a better designed output tray. and closure switch. I have had the printer now for a month and have had absolutely no problems in turning out high quality prints. Full bleed is consistently accurate to the extreme edge with no artifacts. Although the prints from the 3880 are excellent, the new inkset, amongst perhaps other factors, does definitely generate more tonally and chromatically accurate output, throughout the entire color range in the multiple images I have made. The Atkinson standard color test print of multiple small images is essentially perfectly reproduced, although the test print of color balls is not so perfect, but substantially better than that of the 3880's output. The deep blacks appear a bit richer, as advertised, but, I'm not sure I could tell that reliably, blinded, by more than chance alone. Printer carriage noise is about the same as the 3880, and not particularly intrusive. The feet, just like the 3880 can become stuck to a tabletop, especially in warmer weather, and if may damage the surface in trying to lift it if it has remained in place for protracted periods of time. I recommend putting some type of pad beneath the printer to protect your valued desktop from potential damage.

1 Ink lightfastness rating based on accelerated testing of prints on specialty media, displayed indoors, under glass. Actual print stability will vary according to media, printed image, display conditions, light intensity, humidity and atmospheric conditions. Epson does not guarantee longevity of prints. For maximum print life, display all prints under glass or lamination or properly store them. Visit www.wilhelm-research.com for the latest information.

2 2 Cartridge yields vary considerably based on images printed, print settings, paper type, frequency of use and temperature. For print quality, a variable amount of ink remains in the cartridge after the "replace cartridge" indicator comes on. The printer ships with 64 mL initial cartridges and part of the ink from the first cartridges is used for priming the printer.

3 Ink used in conversion varies considerably based on temperature and other factors.

4 Not all paper types or widths supported. Printer does not have an auto cutter; manual cut required. See the documentation at www.epson.com/support/p800 for details.

5 Print times are based upon print engine speeds only. Total throughput depends upon front-end driver/RIP, file size, printing resolution, ink coverage, network speed, etc. All times are in bidirectional print mode at 1440 x 720 dpi.

6 Wi-Fi CERTIFIED; level of performance subject to the range of router being used. Wi-Fi Direct may require printer software.
