Why do I see a difference in ink level reporting?
-
Ink levels are a calculated value based on the average amount of ink used for printing at different dot sizes, performing cleaning cycles, printer initialization, borderless printing, nozzle checks and other dot fire sequences. The ink levels are reported as follows:
- The control panel ink gauge represents ink levels in 20% steps. The first level will be displayed for an ink level of anywhere from 100% to 80%, the next level 80% to 60%, and so on.
- When a print job is sent, the Status Monitor reads and displays the current ink levels at that point in time.
- Depending on when and which method you use to view ink levels, they can easily appear to be giving different ink level information at that point in time. The Status Monitor provides the most accurate ink level information.
