Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Bang for the Buck! I bought this on sale a month ago as my first ever projector. My intention is to put it in my finished basement when it is completed. In the meantime, I am using the HC 3700 as my backyard projector onto a 120" portable screen. My family and I couldn't be happier. Bright, punchy, detailed picture that wows! I have it on Eco mode and it is still plenty bright in the backyard after the sun has gone down. My wife was skeptical about projectors in general but she is a believer now. Highly recommended product from Epson if you don't want to deal with the early adopter expense and growing pains of 4K units.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Movie Time Bought this projector around August 2018 and have used it for almost 700 hours. I mostly use it with fire tv square 4K stick and PS3 to watch movies and play online games. Picture of great and really clear. I was really surprise on how clear it was. Watching movies is awesome on this projector. I only use it on eco cinema mode which is bright enough. I was having trouble with the fire stick. It keep resetting fire tv stick because it did not have enough power going to it. After A few auto resets it would stay stable. It did this on both usb inputs. I was able to fix problem by installing a usb power cable from amazon. This did the trick. The only thing I did not like was that when picture gets dark/scenes you can see a red dot on the screen. Notice it after a few days of using it. I’ve been searching online and I’ve read that it could be a fixed pixel or dust in the red inner lenses.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great alternative to 3D TV Was looking for a replacement for my 3D tv and stumbled into the projector market. Really happy with this discovery! This Epson projector works great; the image setup was a breeze with the ability to easily adjust the pictures size, and horizontal/vertical position. Check the Epson website for a Projection Distance Calculator that will tell you how far back from the screen the projector needs to be to achieve your desired screen size. It will also shows you how far you can adjust the horizontal/vertical position of the image based on your specified distance from the screen. Link here: https://epson.com/Support/wa00814 As for movie playback: The image is crisp once you adjust the focus, the color spectrum looks great, and the brightness is just right even on economy mode. I should note: I can block any incident light from hitting my screen, if I was to watch in a well lit room with daylight hitting the screen, I would likely have to turn the economy mode off. My only complaint (and docked a star for this) would be the lack of Wi-Fi in this projector. You will need an attached wireless player or Roku stick to watch online media. Aside from the wireless connectivity this projector has all the features you need. I do have a sound bar connected to my Blu-ray player, but was surprised to find the projector has pretty decent sound on its own. I like the added bass of my soundbar and woofer, but the projector's built in speakers are adequate if you don't want to invest in better sound. In closing, I'm totally happy with my purchase and would recommend this projector to others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Picture Amazing 3d Phenominal Projector! I bought this a month ago and my expectations have been surpassed a million fold. Not only did it produce an exceptionally crystal clear image in 2D, but the 3D is by far the best my fiance and I have ever experienced! We have already watched a dozen blu rays, most being 3D, and all have been beyond excellent. Even the 2D to 3D conversion (the absolute best conversion of any tv or projector I have ever seen) of Pink Floyd's Pulse concert on DVD was so lifelike and depth perceptive it was as if we were actually there. My fiance is now as big a fanatic of 3D as I am all because of this beautiful piece of technology. Thanks a Billion Epson for making all of our third dimensional dreams a reality! Keep up the great cutting edge work and God Bless!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding This is my 4th projector and by far the best. Many setup options and very easy to position the screen. Using with a Yamaha RX-A740 and the aspect ratio is perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy to say the least! I just upgraded to the Epson 3700 and the colors and picture are beautiful. I had a higher lumen projector but recently learned about color Lumens. Found out my previous one although 3400 lumens was only putting out about 1100 color Lumens which explains why I was baffled that the white could get blinding bright but still picture could not get bright enough for us while gaming in the daytime. I have an alr screen to help but needed help with the projector and the Epson 3700 is the ticket! Dark screen no problem for this projector in a lot of ambient light. No more needing to turn out all the lights and close all the window blinds to enjoy watching on your big screen!! Another bonus is that the cushion you have for distance is huge as well as fine tuning with lens shift is not appreciated until you try it! These things I normally wouldn’t care about in this case because once I mount it on the ceiling I don’t need to touch it however if you plan on moving it for the outdoor party or elsewhere once in a while, consider that bonus! Only problem now is that we end up watching on the projector waaaaaay more than we normally would. Also if it had a switch outlet for motorized screen that wouldve been nice however not a deal breaker by any means. All I can say is Who needs TVs with a projector like this?? If done all over again, there would be no TVs in the house. Time will tell the hours I get out of the lamp but the replacements are reasonable so I’m not concerned about it as long it is a reasonable amount. In the world of projectors it can get very frustrating and confusing. If you want a nice quality projector in this price range from all that I’ve seen will be very hard to beat!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Control Overall It pains me to write this review, it is only so critical because my problems with Epson projectors span 3 months, 2 different models and multiple replacements that all add up to me still not having a functioning projector that I paid a good deal of money for. First issue was with a different model, the 2150. The bulb burned out in 2 days on 3 different projectors. Easy enough, I was able to replace each of those by returning to exchange until after the third unit and finding out online it is a well known problem. As well known a problem as it is apparently, why on earth are you still selling the 2150. So, after three 2150 units, I figured I'd try the "Upgrade" path and settled on the 3700. My first unit started unexpectedly turning off, with the "Internal error" light diagnostic warning after 4 weeks. Since I was passed the return period in store, I had to rely on the Epson Warranty. Fair enough, I had 2 choices. Advanced shipping (pay up front for the replacement unit) and return the defective unit and get the funds released back to bank after they received it or send the defective unit in, wait for shipping and processing and get a replacement hen it's been processed. A proposal that would have left me without a projector for minimum 1 business week (so 2 weeks). I chose to do the advance shipping option for which my card was charged the full amount as opposed to a hold on the amount like was stated by their support csr. To make matters worse, they send a "refurbished" unit NOT a new unit. All "Guaranteed" to be in complete working order. This was not the case. The replacement they sent has a loose lens housing. I cant so much as focus using the ring without it actually moving the lens. Making this 2nd unit hardly quality controlled along with the others. If anybody had so much has tested this unit, the loose lens would have been immediately noticed this. The Zoom ring is so stiff there is no way to adjust it with applying actual pressure which doesn't help with the loose lens housing. It also appears that the lens has a significant scratch on one of the internal glass components. But to be clear, the lens housing being loose is a deal breaker either way. All of this from and advanced shipment that was "tested to ensure everything is in working order as well as 3 units of a different model being bad. Totaling 5 bad projectors in less than 7 weeks across 2 models. Needless to say this is not confidence boosting in either the product in general or the warranty. I will basically have to keep returning projectors until I get one that works since I can't return the unit to place of purchase and 5 units, two models in 7 weeks is way more trouble than the entry fee has been worth. I can not recommend, at least, the 2150 or 3700 and other than the image when it does work, a hard press to recommend Epson at all.
