Rated 5 out of 5 by from P400 printer Bought this printer to print my best pictures in order to show others. The P400 does an excellent job of showing off my photography.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really great prints I get really great prints using Epson Metallic Photo Paper Luster. The prints really pop. I also use Epson Ultra Premium Photo Paper Luster and get good results, but I think I get more "pop" using the metallic paper. I sell my work at a local gallery and have used a "professional" printer in the area. He uses the long bed Epson printers. I think that the images from the P400 are just as good. I have had the printer now for about 6 weeks and I am very happy with it. I love that I now have better control over the process. I am also learning how to use the print function in Lightroom and I think that I can get even better results with more practice. It is so much nicer to see my results immediately than to wait until the printer gets a batch printed and I find that some of the shots don't print as I expected. This is my third Epson printer and if I get the years of trouble free service out of the P400 that the other 2 gave me, I will be happy. I still use my Epson Artisan 837 as my daily all-in-one general purpose printer/scanner/copier. How printers have changed since my first dot matrix printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Graphic Designer/Illustrator I've had my Epson SureColor P400 Wide Format Inkjet Printer for a couple of months now and absolutely LOVE it! It was easy to set up, install the inks when needed and print after print is just gorgeous!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mostly good Image quality is beautiful, and the printer operation is smooth. I have two issues: it could not be set up for wireless printing; the gloss optimizer cartridge runs out very quickly, before any of the other inks need to be replaced, and when this happens, it will not print. I called the Epson support about the gloss optimizer; they mailed me an additional cartridge at no charge, which was very nice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy set up Retired two years and photography is my primary hobby having taken over 50,000 digital photos since 2002 (and maybe as many since 1972 that are printed and in photo albums). With 4 children and 11 grandchildren, and living on a small lake, I have the opportunity to take photos almost daily with my Nikon D-600 with a full frame sensor and 23.4 M/pixels. The Epson SureColor 400 is my entry into printing my photographs myself to save money. I am very pleased with what I have printed thus far. I have had zero issues. The 8 inks give excellent color. I use the photo editors in Windows 10 and Paintshop Pro X9 from Corel. I use Epson paper, Epson ink, and have used a few sheets of another well know high quality brand. The Epson SureColor 400 meets and exceeds my needs and expectations. My daughters are thrilled with the family photos I have printed for them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great printer!!! I’ve loved photography since the old film days, and when digital came around I’ve always enjoyed printing my own photos. Because of that, I’ve owned 3 or 4 smaller Epson printers that can only print up to 8.5” wide, and I have always been impressed with their results. The P400 is my second printer that can handle up to 13” wide format. I have a Epson 1280, and it’s been a great printer, but I love the P400 even more because of the additional media it allows me to print on. So far, I’ve purchased metallic paper and canvas, and I’m so happy with the results. I look forward to exploring additional media and I’m sure I’ll keep enjoying all the different options this printer allows me. The people I show my prints to don’t believe I printed them myself. If you’re looking for a printer that can do 13” wide and more then just plain paper, this is the printer for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceeds my Expectations Easy to set up and install. The print quality is better than the prints I was getting from professional labs. I've been using the P400 for about a month using the sheet feeder only (4x6 glossy to 13x19 Ultra Pro Satin from Red River).

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good quality pigment ink, but problematic paper feeders This printer looks nice and professional and the price tag sure matches with it professional purpose, but it ends up couldn't do the job I was expected to, a job that even my 10 years old small home printer can do but not this epson printer. It Can't Print on Thick Media! I first tried the rear feeder for my 140lbs/300gms fine art paper, but it doesn't work so I tried the front manual feeder, and it only worked 1/3 of the way and color look smeared on it which it doesn't happen at all when I color test print on the ordinary plain paper on the top feeder. So I thought my 140lbs paper must be too much to handle for this printer and decided to try on the 90lb/185gms paper, which my 10 years old little home ink jet printer has no problem with at all. BUT this so call PROFESSIONAL FINE ART PRINTER COULDN'T DO THE JOB AT ALL, no matter the fine art rear feeder, or the thick media/CD/DVD front feeder. This is very disappointing, since I know that the Epson Velvet paper has similar thickness as my 90lb watercolor paper, but the feeders that are made to this paper thickness and printing purpose doesn't meet the expectation at all. I also heard about good review from the other artists who use Epson's other printer for fine art printing purpose, but not in my case afterall. The printer also seem to fix printing error messages very slowly. Whenever the paper jamming light is on, it couldn't turned off at all even though I already fixed the paper jamming issue (there's no jamming in the printer, just that the printer detected the paper weight is not what it is capable of). The only good thing about this printer is the ink, I test it out by soaking my print into the sink with water and the image is totally water resistant. Too bad the feeder is so problematic and can't do what it claim to do. This is such a shame for a professional printer with such a nice quality ink. I think I need to return it before it's too late.

Epson SureColor P400 Receives 4/5 stars; “Excellent” rating & Editors’ Choice Award from PCMag.com

“The Epson SureColor P400 is fast for a prosumer photo printer. Most of our test images produced excellent-quality prints, with vivid colors and excellent detail. It's a worthy replacement for the Epson Stylus Photo R2000 as our top pick for moderately priced near-dedicated photo printers.”

For print quality, a variable amount of ink remains in the cartridge after the "replace cartridge" indicator light comes on.
