My pictures are out of focus. What should I do?

  • If your images are out of focus, try the following:
    • Place your subject in the center of the focus frame and press the shutter button halfway. You see a green focus frame. Reframe your photo as necessary and press the button all the way down.
    • Make sure you are at least 20 inches away from your subject (or 2 inches away in Macro mode).
    • Make sure the lens is clean. If it's not, blow off any loose dust, then breathe on the lens and wipe it with a soft, dry cloth.
    • If the captured image is blurred, you may have moved the camera. Hold the camera with your arm close to your body when shooting. Use a tripod for night scenes and other low light situations.
