The edges of my printout are smeared when I print with a borderless setting. What should I do?

• The smears on the prints are due to paper curl. To see if your paper is curled, inspect your paper by laying a single sheet on a flat surface with the print side face up. If any edge is up off of the flat surface, your prints may show smear marks. If the 4 edges lay flat but the middle area is curved and lifts up off the flat surface, your prints may show smear marks.
  
  To reduce paper curl and prevent this smear from occurring, do the following:
  
  Store unused paper in its original packaging, usually a plastic bag and box.
  
  Store paper packs on a flat surface with the print side face down.
  
  Avoid storing paper in hanging file folders.
  
  Avoid printing borderless or near borderless images at high resolution on thin paper.
  
  If your paper is curled, return it to the plastic packaging, lay it on a flat surface with the printable side down, and flatten it by laying a heavy object on it such as books, stack of magazines, etc.
  
  It is recommended to use only the thicker specialty media from Epson for borderless printing. This paper is specified in your printer's reference guide. Ink saturation may cause thinner paper to curl as it feeds through the printer causing smearing.
