My printout has incorrect margins. What should I do?

  • The paper may be loaded incorrectly. Make sure that the left and right edge guides are flush against both sides of the paper. Make sure the margins are set correctly in your software application. You can adjust the margins through the printer driver. Make sure you are not trying to print outside the printable area of the page for your paper size. Printable area specifications are given in the Printer Basics book. Make sure the correct paper size is selected in the printer driver settings.

If you're printing from a web browser, especially when viewing web pages using frames, the pages may not print correctly due to the web page design. This is not the fault of the printer or printer setup. Often there is nothing you can do to print the complete page as displayed. Check to see if there is a print option or Printer Friendly Version icon on the web page that you can click on. Try a different web browser or a newer version (if available) to see if that helps.
