How do I set up my product to work on a TCP/IP network?
-
If you have an existing network, TCP/IP is probably being used and being distributed by a DHCP device (a DHCP server or DHCP stand-alone router/gateway, for example). All you need to do is verify that a TCP/IP address has been obtained or manually enable TCP/IP through the CX11N's control panel.
Follow these steps to verify whether a TCP/IP address has been obtained:- Press the Setup button.
- At the Printer Settings option, press the button.
- At the Information option, press the button.
- Use the button to select Network Status Sheet, then press the button. The CX11N will print a status sheet.
- On the status sheet, check the second item in the TCP/IP section and verify that the IP address has a number such as the example shown below:
The information in the TCP/IP section on your status sheet should match the network segment being used on the network that the computers belong to.IP Address 135.792.46.813 Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway 135.792.46.001
If the IP address in the TCP/IP section is 169.254.43.71 and the information is as shown below, the network is not releasing a TCP/IP address to the CX11N.IP Address 169.254.43.71 Subnet Mask 255.255.0.0 Default Gateway (None)
- Press the Setup button.
- Use the button to select Host I/F Settings, then press the button.
- Use the button to select Network Settings, then press the button.
- Use the button to select Network I/F=On, then press the button.
- Turn the CX11N off, wait 1 minute, then turn it back on.
- Reprint a network status sheet to verify that the CX11N has obtained a TCP/IP address. The CX11N should now be enabled for TCP/IP and available on the network segment.
- Install the CX11N software in network mode to print and scan from the network.
