Can I select a print resolution by indicating a specific dpi (dots per inch) setting?

  • No. The print resolution is determined by other driver software settings.

In Windows, the Quality Option and paper Type settings determine the print resolution.

In Mac OS X, the resolution depends on the Mode setting:
    • If you've selected Automatic as the Mode setting, the resolution is determined by the Media Type setting and the position of the Quality/Speed slider.
    • If you've selected Advanced as the Mode setting, the resolution is determined by the Media Type setting and the Print Quality setting.

Note: To access the resolution settings in Mac OS X, select Print from the File menu. Then click Copies & Pages and select Print Settings from the pull-down menu.
