Can I select a print resolution by indicating a specific dpi (dots per inch) setting?

  • No. The print resolution is determined by other driver software settings.

In Windows, the Quality Option and paper Type settings determine the print resolution.

On a Macintosh, the resolution settings are determined by the Mode setting in the driver. To access the Mode setting, select Print from the File menu. Then click Copies & Pages and select Print Settings from the pull-down menu.
    • If you've selected Automatic as the Mode setting, the resolution is determined by the Media Type setting and the position of the Quality/Speed slider.
    • If you've selected Advanced as the Mode setting, the resolution is determined by the Media Type setting and the Print Quality setting.
