When I print, my product cuts off some of the characters on the right side of the page. What should I do?

  • In some older applications you can resolve character clipping by enabling fractional character widths. Do the following:
    AppleWorks:
    1. Open your document.
    2. Click Edit, then Preferences.
    3. Topic should be set to Text.
    4. Below Options, check Fractional Character Widths.
    5. Click OK to print the document.
    6. When the file is saved, the setting will be saved with it.

    Microsoft Word 98
    1. Open your document.
    2. Click Tools, then Preferences.
    3. Click the Print tab.
    4. Below options for current document only, select Fractional Widths.
    5. Click OK to print the document.
    6. When the file is saved, the setting will be saved with it.

    WordPerfect
    1. Click File then Page Setup.
    2. Below Options, make sure Fractional Character Widths is ON.

When other Macintosh programs are affected, you can also try to disable Smooth all fonts on screen.
    1. Click Apple, Control Panel, then Appearance.
    2. Click Font, then disable Smooth all fonts on screen.
    3. Close Appearance then restart and try printing again.
