Can I select a print resolution by indicating a specific dpi (dots per inch) setting?
-
No. The print resolution is determined by other driver software settings.
In Windows, the Print Quality and Media Type settings determine the print resolution. See Printing in Windows.
In Mac OS X 10.5, the Print Quality and Media Type settings determine the print resolution. See Printing With Mac OS X 10.5.
In Mac OS X 10.3 to 10.4, the resolution settings depend on the Mode setting (see Printing With Mac OS X 10.3 to 10.4):
Note: To access the resolution settings in Mac OS X, select Print from the File menu. Then select Print Settings from the pull-down menu.- If you've selected Automatic as the Mode setting, the resolution is determined by the Media Type setting and the position of the Quality/Speed slider.
- If you've selected Advanced as the Mode setting, the resolution is determined by the Media Type setting and the Print Quality setting.
