How do I install the latest scanner driver on my Mac?

  • Do the following:

    1. Make sure your product is turned on and connected to your Mac.
    2. Do one of the following:
      • OS X 10.10, OS X 10.11, or macOS 10.12: Open the  menu and select App Store > Updates.
      • OS X (other versions): Open the  menu and select Software Update.
    3. Do one of the following:
      • If you see an update from Epson, select UPDATE to install it.

Note: Apple Software Update may find multiple updates for your system. You may choose to install all or some of the updates by clicking Show Details.

      • If an update is not available, you already have the latest drivers from Apple.
    4. Open the  menu and select System Preferences > Print & Scan, Print & Fax, or Printers & Scanners.

Your product should appear in the left side of the window. If your product is not listed, click the  icon and select your product.

    5. Close the Print & Scan, Print & Fax, or Printers & Scanners window.

Note: The steps above will allow you to scan with Apple's Image Capture software on your product. However, you can also install Epson Scan 2, which provides additional image adjustment and photo correction features for enhancing scanned images, and an interface for TWAIN-compliant OCR scanning software.

To install Epson Scan 2, do the following:

    1. Go to the Downloads tab for your product.
    2. Expand the Drivers section.
    3. Select Scanner Driver and EPSON Scan 2 Utility.
    4. Click Download and follow the on-screen instructions to install Epson Scan 2.
