I see the message The paper source setting is invalid when making a copy from my product. What should I do?

  • This message is displayed when an unsupported paper size or paper type is selected for the paper source. See the table below for the supported paper sizes and paper types.

      Letter 4 X 6 inches 5 X 7 inches 8 X 10 inches
    Plain Paper
    Ultra Glossy
    Premium Glossy
    Glossy
    Premium Semi-gloss
    Premium Matte

    Note: Borderless copies on Letter + Plain Paper are not supported.

    To make a copy:
    1. Place your original document or photo on the top, corner of the scanner glass.
    2. Press the home button, if necessary.
    3. Select Setup and select Paper Setup. You see a screen like this:
    4. Select Paper Size.
      • If you're copying letter size paper select Letter.
      • If you're copying a photo, select a size from the available paper sizes. The table shows compatible paper sizes and paper types.
    5. Select Paper Type.
      • If you're copying letter size paper, select Plain Paper.
      • If you're copying a photo, select a size from the available paper types listed above.
    6. Select OK.
    7. Press the home button and then select Copy. You see a screen like this:
    8. Change any of the displayed settings as necessary.

      Note: The Document Size must match the Paper Size from the initial setup.

    9. Select Settings, make sure the following is selected:
      • If you're copying letter size paper:
        • Layout is set to With Border.
        • Document Size is set to Letter.
        • 2-Sided is set to Off.
      • If you're copying a photo:
        • Layout is set to Borderless or With Border.
        • Document Size is set to a paper size from the above table.
        • 2-Sided is set to Off.
    10. Press back button.
    11. Press one of the Start buttons to make a copy in Black & White or Color.
