When should I use the rear paper feeder instead of the rear paper feed slot?

  • Use the rear paper feeder when you want to load multiple sheets of paper. You can load up to 50 sheets of plain paper or larger paper sizes in the rear paper feeder.

Use the rear paper feed slot when you print on thick paper or card stock (0.61 to 1.3 mm). Load one sheet at a time in the rear paper feed slot.

For thick paper or card stock, you can load one sheet in the following sizes:

    • Legal (8.5 × 14 inches [216 × 356 mm])
    • Letter (8.5 × 11 inches [216 × 279 mm])
    • Mexico-Oficio (8.5 × 13.4 inches [216 × 340 mm])
    • 8.5 × 13 inches (216 × 330 mm)
    • Oficio 9 (8.46 × 12.4 inches [215 × 315 mm])
    • A4 (8.3 × 11.7 inches [210 × 297 mm])
