How does the Detail Enhancement firmware update work?

• The current Super-resolution setting detects changes in color from the boundaries of an object to the background color and sharpens or defines the image. The Epson Detail Enhancement feature included in this firmware update, uses a similar technique, by clarifying the texture and surface appearance of the area within the boundaries of an object. As a result of the firmware update, both video processes work together, one on the boundaries and the other on the surface area of objects, to increase the fine delicate structure in video images.
