Image Capture cannot find my product that is connected with a USB connection. What should I do?

  • This may happen if Epson Scan is installed. Currently there is a compatibility issue with EPSON Scan and Image Capture. Try the following:

    • Reset TWAIN devices in Image Capture. Follow the instructions below for your product type.

      All-in-one Printers

      1. On your Mac, open Image Capture, then select File > Reset TWAIN devices.
      2. Close Image Capture.
      3. Turn off your product.
      4. Open the Apple menu, then select System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
      5. Select your printer, then click to remove the printer.
      6. Restart your Mac.
      7. Turn on your product.

      Scanners

      1. On your Mac, open Image Capture, then select File > Reset TWAIN devices.
      2. Close Image Capture.
      3. Restart your Mac.
    • Uninstall Epson Scan.
      1. To download the Uninstaller utility, visit the Uninstaller utility page.
      2. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the Uninstaller utility.
      3. Quit all applications currently running on your Mac.
      4. Double-click the Uninstaller icon.
      5. Select the checkbox to uninstall EPSON Scan.
      6. Click Uninstall.
      7. Follow the on-screen instructions to uninstall the software.
      8. Restart your Mac.
    • Connect your Epson product to your Mac with a Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection.
