    Moving the Product

    If you need to move or transport your product, prepare it as described here.

    Note: Moving the printer with the bulk ink delivery system (ink unit) connected should be limited to within the work area.

    CAUTION:
    During transportation, follow these guidelines to avoid damaging your product: Do not move the printer while the casters are locked.Do not roll the product on angled or uneven surfaces.Do not tilt the printer more than 10 degrees forward or back; this could result in the printer falling over and cause an accident.Do not place your hand in the labeled parts of the support bar or between the printer and ink unit; this could cause an injury.Assembling and disassembling should be done on a flat surface next to the installation location.Leave the ink packs installed to prevent the ports from drying out.

    1. Do one of the following:
      • If you want to move the product within the room, unlock the printer and ink unit's casters and roll the product to its new location.
      • If you are shipping the product, repack it in the original box using the packing materials that came with the product.

        Warning: Four or more people are required to lift the product.

      • If you want to move the product to another location in the same building, continue to step 2.
    2. Remove any paper from the product.
    3. Select the  menu icon > Maintenance > Move/Transport. Ink discharges from the printer into the maintenance boxes.

      Note: If the maintenance boxes are full, replace them before continuing.

    4. Turn off the product.
    5. Unplug the power cable.
    6. Disconnect any connected cables.
    7. Store the paper basket.
    8. Remove the two bolts from the ink unit's top cover.

    9. Remove the ink unit's top cover.

    10. Remove the ink unit's rear cover.

    11. Disconnect the cables from the ink unit.

    12. Raise the lever and slide the ink tube connector from the printer.

      Note: Clean any ink stuck to the ink tube connector using a cleaning stick.

      Note: After sliding out the ink tube connector, make sure it is secured onto the ink tube cover.

    13. Remove the bolts from the alignment cover.

    14. Remove the alignment cover.

    15. Remove the four bolts attached from the alignment cap to the ink unit's base.

    16. Remove the bolt from the ink unit's bracket.

    17. Detach ink unit from the printer.

    18. Attach the transport cap to the printer.

    19. Attach the transport cap to the ink unit.

    20. Store the support bar.
    21. Unlock the casters.

    22. Move the printer.

    When the product reaches its new location, re-assemble the ink unit using the instructions in the Setup Guide.
