When I try to print a media tracking bar code on roll paper, my product ejects the paper out the paper feed path and then prints the barcode on my product's platen. What should I do?

  • This problem occurs when the printer's Automatic Media Tracking System is turned on and the Auto Cut feature is turned off. When the paper is cut manually, the printer can't detect the top of form position after the paper is cut, so when it feeds the paper back in, the printer feeds it too far and prints on the platen instead of the paper.

To prevent the paper from being fed too far after you cut the paper manually, push the up arrow button on the control panel until the top edge of the paper rolls up to the arrow above the scissors image. Then you can continue printing.
