Nothing projects on the screen. What should I do?
-
Try the following:
- Press the Source Search button on the projector or the Search button or one of the source buttons on the remote control to select the correct input source. Allow a few seconds for the projector to sync up after pressing the button.
- Check that the power light is green, not flashing, and the A/V mute slide (lens cover) is open.
- Press the A/V Mute button on the remote control to see if the picture was turned off temporarily.
- The projector may be in standby or sleep mode. If the power light is orange, press the power button to turn on the projector.
- If you've connected a computer, it may also be in sleep mode or displaying a black screen saver. Try pressing a key on the computer.
- If the power was switched off and then on again, wait until the power light stops flashing and remains orange. Then press the power button again.
- Check the Input Signal or Video Signal setting in the Signal menu to make sure it is correct for the selected source. See Adjusting Signal Settings.
- If you are projecting from a DVD player or other video source, make sure you turn it on and press its Play button.
- Make sure your cable(s) are connected correctly. See Connecting to Computers, USB Devices, and Other Equipment.
- Try another cable.
- If you're projecting through your computer's USB port, make sure the USB Type B setting in the Extended menu is set to USB Display. See Customizing Power and Operation. The USB display feature is not available for Windows 98, Windows Me, or Macintosh.
You may need to install the USB display drivers manually by clicking My Computer, then EPSON_PJ_UD, then EMP_UDSE.EXE. - If you see a black screen and you are connected through your computer's USB port (or through your network), the application may be using DirectX drawing features, which are not supported.
- If you've connected a laptop computer with a VGA cable, make sure it's set to display on an external monitor. If you're using a PC notebook:
- Press the function key that lets you display on an external monitor. It's often labeled with an icon such as , but it may also be labeled CRT/LCD. You may have to hold down the Fn key while pressing it. Check your laptop's manual or online help.
On most systems, the key lets you toggle between the LCD screen and the projector, or display on both at the same time. Allow a few seconds for the projector to sync up after pressing it. - Depending on your computer's video card, you might need to use the Display utility in the Control Panel to make sure that both the LCD screen and external monitor port are enabled. See your computer's documentation or online help for details.
- Make sure the projector is connected to your Macintosh.
- Select System Preferences from the Apple menu and click Display or Displays.
- Click Detect Displays.
- Make sure the VGA Display or Color LCD dialog box is selected.
- To display the entire desktop on both your projector screen and LCD screen, click the Arrangement or Arrange tab. (If you don't see this tab, make sure it isn't hidden by another window.)
- Click Mirror Displays in the lower corner of the screen. One of the monitor icons automatically moves on top of the other.
