Nothing projects on the screen. What should I do?
-
Try the following:
- Press the Source Search button on the projector or Search button on the remote control to select the correct input source. Allow a few seconds for the projector to sync up after pressing the button.
- Check that the power light is green, not flashing, and that the lens cover is removed.
- Press the A/V Mute button on the remote control to make sure the picture has not been turned off temporarily.
- The projector may be in standby or sleep mode. If the Power light is orange, press the Power button to turn on the projector.
- If you are projecting from a DVD player or other video source, make sure you turn it on and press its Play button.
- If you've connected a computer, it may be in sleep mode or displaying a black screen saver. Try pressing a key on the computer.
- If the power was switched off and then on again, the projector may be cooling down. Wait until the Power light stops flashing and remains orange; then press the Power button again.
- If you are projecting from a video source, make sure the Video Signal setting is correct. See Adjusting Signal Settings.
- Make sure your cable(s) are connected correctly. See Setting up the Projector.
- You can also try resetting all of the configuration menu settings. See Restoring the Default Settings.
- If you've connected a laptop computer with a VGA cable, make sure it's set to display on an external monitor.
- If you're using a PC notebook:
- Press the function key on your keyboard that lets you display on an external monitor. It may be labeled CRT/LCD or have an icon such as . You may have to hold down the Fn key while pressing it. Allow a few seconds for the projector to sync up after changing the setting. Check your notebookfs manual or online help for details. On most systems, the key lets you toggle between the LCD screen and the projector, or display on both at the same time.
- Depending on your computer's video card, you might need to use the Display utility in the Control Panel to make sure that both the LCD screen and external monitor port are enabled. See your computer's documentation or online help for details.
- If you're using Mac OS X:
- Select System Preferences from the Apple menu and click Display or Displays.
- Click Detect Displays.
- Do one of the following:
Mac OS X 10.6: Click Show displays in the menu bar.
Other Mac OS X users: Make sure the VGA Display or Color LCD dialog box is selected. Click the Arrangement or Arrange tab and make sure the Mirror Displays check box is selected.
If you connect the notebook while the projector or computer are already turned on, the function key that changes the computer's image signal to external output may not work. Turn the computer and the projector off and then back on again.
