Support Projectors BrightLink Series Epson BrightLink 475Wi

The cursor location and pen position do not match. It is difficult to join lines, annotate, or select objects. What should I do?

  • For best pen accuracy, Epson recommends calibrating the pens manually. Do the following:
    1. Press the Menu button, select Extended and press Enter.
    2. Select Easy Interactive Function and press Enter.
    3. Select Manual Calibration and press Enter.

Note: If necessary, adjust the focus, by opening the cover on the side of the projector and sliding the focus lever.

    4. Press Enter to select Yes.
    5. A flashing green circle appears in the upper left corner of your projected image.

    6. Touch the center of the circle with the tip of the pen.
    7. The circle disappears, and you see another circle lower than the first one.

Note: For the most accurate calibration, make sure you touch the center of the circle.

    8. Touch the center of the next circle, then repeat. When you get to the bottom of the column, the next circle appears at the top of a new column.
    9. Note: Make sure you are not blocking the signal between the pen and the interactive receiver (next to the projection window on the projector).

If you make a mistake, press the Esc button on the remote control to go back to the previous circle. To restart the calibration process, press and hold the Esc button.

    10. Continue until all the circles disappear.

If the above steps do not help, check the additional troubleshooting tips below:

    • Make sure the correct interactive source is selected in the Easy Interactive Function menu.
    • Note: The interactive source refers to the computer input you choose to use for interactivity. A USB cable must also be connected from the source to the computer. The available source selections include, Computer1, Computer2, HDMI, LAN, Wireless (WiFi), or USB. All other sources not selected will only allow annotation with the built-in annotation tools (instant annotation).

    • Try selecting a different source to see if you can annotate. If you are able to annotate, this confirms the pen is working and the batteries are not expended.
    • Try turning off the lights or changing the lighting in the room.
    • Install the latest version of EPSON Interactive Driver. You can download the software from the Downloads tab for your product.
    • Try adjusting the pen area manually. Do the following:
      1. Press the Menu button, select Extended and press Enter.
      2. Select Easy Interactive Function and press Enter.
      3. Select Advanced and press Enter.
      4. Select Manual Adj. Pen Area and press Enter.
      5. Press Enter to select Yes. The mouse pointer moves toward the top left corner.
      6. When the mouse pointer stops at the top left corner of the image, touch the tip of the pointer with the pen. The mouse pointer moves toward the bottom right corner.
      7. When the mouse pointer stops at the bottom right corner of the image, touch the tip of the pointer with the pen.
    • If the cursor location and pen position still do not match, adjust the computer's resolution settings. Change the resolution to 1280 x 800 for the EPSON BrightLink 475Wi or 485Wi projector or 1024 x 768 for the EPSON BrightLink 480i projector.
