Support Projectors BrightLink Series Epson BrightLink 1480Fi

How do I connect my projector wirelessly to my Windows or Mac computer?

  • Install the Epson iProjection (Windows/Mac) software on the computer from which you will project. The projector has built-in wireless functionality, but if you want to use multiple wireless connection methods (i.e., simple AP mode and infrastructure mode) at the same time, you should also install the optional wireless LAN module as instructed in your product's online User's Guide.

Note: The wireless LAN module is not included with your projector. You can purchase the wireless LAN module (part number V12H005A02) from the Epson Store.

Note: With Windows, you can also set up a wireless connection using a Quick Wireless Connection USB Key and the Epson iProjection software, or you can send images to your projector from mobile devices such as laptops, smartphones, and tablets using Miracast technology. You will need a USB flash drive to create a Quick Wireless Connection USB Key. See your product's online User's Guide for more information.

Note: An HDMI video connection is recommended for video playback. Use a wireless connection only to display photos and presentations.

After you install software and wireless LAN module, if necessary, do the following to select the network settings on your projector:

    1. Turn on the projector.
    2. Press the Menu button on the remote control, select the Management menu, and then press Enter.
    3. Make sure the Wireless LAN Power setting is set to On.
    4. Press Esc, select the Network menu, and then press Enter.
    5. Select Network Settings and press Enter.
    6. Select Simple AP and press Enter.
    7. Do one of the following:
      • To connect directly to a computer without using a router or access point, select On and press Enter. To set enable security for your projector, press Esc as necessary until you see the Network Settings menu, select Passphrase, and then enter a passphrase.

Select Set and follow the on-screen instructions to save your settings and exit the menus. See Connecting the Projector and a Computer Directly Using Wireless Communication to connect your projector.

      • To connect to a router or access point, select Off and press Enter. Press Esc as necessary to return to the Network Settings menu and continue with the steps below.
        1. Select Wireless LAN and press Enter.
        2. Select Search Access Point and press Enter.
        3. Use the arrow buttons on the remote control to select your network name (SSID) in the list of available connections. Enter your network password on the screen that appears, if necessary.
        4. Select OK and press Enter.
        5. Select IP Settings and press Enter. If your network assigns addresses automatically, make sure DHCP is turned on. Otherwise, turn off DHCP and manually enter the projector's IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Gateway Address as needed.
        6. Press Esc as necessary until you see the Network Settings menu.
        7. Select Set and follow the on-screen instructions to save your settings and exit the menus.
        8. Make sure the computer is connected to the same wireless network as the projector. See Connecting to the Projector from the Software over a Network System to connect your projector.
