How Epson Measures All-in-One Copy Speeds

ISO/IEC 29183 International Standard: ISO Copy Speeds

The digital copier industry adopted a new international standard for measuring copy speeds. This standard, known as ISO/IEC 29183, is the most reliable method to test copy speeds of inkjet and lasers products under standard conditions.

ISO copy speeds, also known as ISO/IEC 29183 copy speeds, give an "apples-to-apples" copy speed comparison across various models for all manufacturers using the same method of measurement. This allows consumers to gauge the true performance of all-in-ones, in order to accurately identify a product that will match their needs.

Many digital copying devices produce copied pages at a different speed than their nominal speed due to various factors. These include, but are not limited to, the number of pages to be copied; single-sided or double-sided output; quality setting; number of copies; paper type and size; document content (simple text versus color/graphics), and document complexity.
