Epson Printer Driver "Windows Security" Messages
Due to a Microsoft policy change, Epson printer drivers released after January 15, 2026 will use Windows attestation signatures instead of WHQL (Windows Hardware Quality Labs) signatures.
As a result, in some operating systems, you will see a “Windows Security” message when installing Epson printer software, as detailed below.
Note: Epson printer drivers released after January 15, 2026 will no longer support Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012. For Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2, see below.
You will see the message "Would you like to install this device software?" Click Install to proceed.
Note: If you do not want to see this message for future Epson printer software installs, select the Always trust software from "SEIKO EPSON CORPORATION" checkbox before you click Install.
You will see the message "Windows can't verify the publisher of this driver software". If you downloaded the driver from the Epson support site (https://support.epson.com), click Install this driver software anyway to proceed.
