Rated 5 out of 5 by from Safer and less expensive than other printers. Ink Jet and laser printers are either too expensive to use or not safe. This works for the intended use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No worries! Highest reliability! Are you sick of your bubble jet printer ink always drying up? Sick of shelling out money for ink cartridges only to get a few pages (if used sparingly)? In grade school and junior high we printed all of our documents on noisy dot matrix printers (early 90's). Class after class, hour after hour of students printing, then reprinting, probably pushed those printers well over 100% duty cycle yet they continued to print despite the constant use and abuse. Fast forward to 2017. I am writing this review on my LQ-590 that I purchased in 2014. I have yet to replace, tinker, or adjust anything on this printer. I never have to worry about dried up ink cartridges and the cost that goes with them. The ink ribbons for dot matrix printers are very inexpensive and last so much longer. The noise is what you'd expect from a dot matrix printer, its not loud but its not quiet either. Highly recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A real work horse I've worked with my company for 29 years. Very dusty, dirty construction environment. This is our 3rd LQ-590. Amazing the way this printer holds up day after day, year after year.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This thing is fast! When I upgraded to Windows 8, I found that my old reliable Epson impact printer couldn't handle the new operating system. I bought the LQ-590 to replace it because my old Epson was such a work horse and I wanted to stick with the brand. This little printer is ridiculously fast, and the print is nice and sharp. My only complaint is that it can't be configured to fit my 6 1/2" continuous feed checks - and I use it exclusively for printing checks. I paid about $2K to have these checks printed, so for the time being I'm feeding them into the printer one at a time. That little glitch is the only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars. Kudos to Epson for making such a quality product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Worked great at first I've had my Lq-590 since 2008. It worked very well at first and I was very happy with it. However, after the first ribbon cartridge that came with it, which lasted till the ink faded, the new ribbon life is very short. I average only 300-500 pages printing before it chews through the ribbon and jams. I've tried 3 generic ribbons and assumed this was the issue but the 2 Epson ribbons I bought at the Epson store only averaged about 300 pages each. I'm using 2 part form feed paper and only print between 100 to 200 pages a month. I don't know if its the printer or the ribbon quality that is the problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LQ 590 An exellent printer with good quality print. The only problem I have experienced is, tht it is near impossible to line up pre-printed checks. The numbers come before the $$ sign and there isn't enough carriage space to compensate

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LQ590 Impact printer I have had two LQ570 and now have two LQ590 Impact printers. They are by far the best and longest lasting printers I have ever owned. Do not hesitate to buy. You will never be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely Great!! This was the fastest, easiest printer (of any kind) to set up and resume business with. Within minutes out of the box we were back up and running. I thought it would be some kind of nightmare to make our invoicing line up correctly on the pre-printed paper - but the first small adjustment did it. Thank You!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Jam indication, no jam If you let your Ribbon get too old (as I do between orders) your lq590 will start to fault out in the middle of a document. however It sure is great saving money on ink using a impact printer with a wife who likes to print everything.
