Rated 5 out of 5 by from Epson Printers are the BEST The really enjoy the Epson brand of printers. They are easy to setup, use, and maintain. Additionally, the quality of the Epson brand printouts are excellent. The wireless printing feature makes it extremely easy to print from my home computer, but also my mobile devices. I cannot imagine why a buyer would chose another brand. Another positive factor I love about the all in one scanner, copier, fax, etc. is the ink tanks! They are easy to fill, check the toner levels, and do NOT run out quickly. I truly believe that I won’t be required to buy ink more than a few times a year. For a person using this in their home for personal or small business use, this is a big cost savings. Other printers required me to replace the ink cartridges way too soon and ran out at the most inconvenient times, since I could not see their levels. Rated 5 out of 5 by from No more Cartridges! I am so happy to have the easy to use printer. Out of the box set up was simple and the app guided you step by step through the process of setting the printer up. This also included pictures and instructions on how to fill the ink tanks, which was surprisingly easy to do. After everything was all set up I was able to print a few photos from my phone with no problems at all. There are many amazing things about this printer. First...no more cartridges ever, just super affordable ink bottles to refill the tanks. Second, the paper tray holds 250 sheets of paper. Third automatica. Double sided printing. Fourth nice touch screen that is very easy to use. Overall this is a great printer! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Truly a value product I've been using Epson supertank printers for quite some time now. I must say that my expectations were set really high. And boy, this printer really pleased me. Epson has continued the tradition of delivering great product which are a lot of value for the user. I've been a fan of the supertank life without cartridges. Gives me a sense of freedom and peace of mind. The included ink bottles last a long time...fill it, shut it, forget it. And when it's done, just repeat. Coming to the ET-4850, I got a white one and the subtle design patterns make it look good. The touchscreen is better as compared to the ET-4750. Setting up the printer was a breeze. Really like the bot experience. Appreciate that the bot didn't serialize everything (process engineering at work :-)) The print quality is great, and the option for duplex makes it convenient. You'll also find convenience in the scanning department, where you can choose to scan to computer or cloud. And did I mention that you can print by sending an email to the 'printer'. Looks like Epson is out to cut all the wires...except the power cord I suppose. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for home office This printer has worked great for me, one of the best I've ever used. Setup was fairly straight forward with the software you can download for any platform including iOS, Android and PC. The printer comes with a rather large amount of ink that is loaded into an onboard tank and does not require cartridges. After adding the ink, paper and connecting it, setup took about fifteen minutes using the included software The printer has been great to use in my home office add does everything I need, taking the place of several different devices. I am able to fax, scan, copy and print using my phone or computer. Print speed is very good as is copying and saves me time over my old scanner. The touchscreen comes in handy for displaying information but I preferred to use the apps. Overall I would recommend this to anyone looking for a multifunction printer for a small business looking for a fast, cost-saving and affordable multifunction printer. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Say goodbye to ink cartridges FOREVER! Epson EcoTank is changing the game. I received my EcoTank ET-4850 last week. Let me start off by saying setup was a breeze. At times you are not sure where to start with new technology but Epson made it foolproof with this one. The app was easy to navigate, ink was simple to load and I successfully got it linked to my home WIFI network without any challenges. In the past, the WIFI step has caused me some trouble so I was relieved that this process was so simple. This multifunction printer is excellent for your home office and small business. You can print, copy and scan with great quality from this single device. The duplex printing capability is also a huge win allowing you to easily conserve paper and waste. The printing quality is superb. This inkjet printer offered crisp rich colors that you might typically find from a laser printer. The size might be a tab large for the average home user but I feel it's worth it for all the features that are offered. One last note that I thought was great as I have experienced problems in the past with other printers is the document feeder. This model has a high-capacity document feeder that operates smoothly and jam-free and in my line of work, it is a blessing. All in all, this printer has exceeded my expectations. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Printer That Exceeded My Expectations After having used the Epson EcoTank ET-4850 the past week and a half, I must say it pleasantly surprised me. The thought of an “Ink bottle” type printer in the small home office environment was met with several critical thought of, cost per page, printing time and ink mess/consumption. Let me break down my experience: Setup – this was by far the easiest printer setup from unboxing to first print job. The packaging was easy to open and remove printer, remove securing tape from various areas of the printer. Adding the ink, the hardest part was opening the airtight packaging bag each bottle came in! Otherwise it was a simple as unscrewing the cap, and inserting the bottle into the fill hole above each ink chamber. Within a thirty seconds, the ink filled the printer chamber and then you repeat the same process for each color. The power up and network configuration was straight forward, in my case, I started by using Ethernet connectivity and after performing the print head alignment test pages, I was printing to the networked printer within 10 minutes. Now as with anything there seems to be drawbacks from time to time. With this printer, the print head alignment test was a challenge. The pages it printed out were clear and vivid however the lines were small enough that to see of offset lines for adjustments were hard to see. Furthermore, the small 3” LCD screen made it hard to click on the screen if you have larger fingers. Printing methods – Initially this printer was setup with Ethernet only, it was a breeze to setup and get started as Windows auto detected the printer and no software of additional setup tasks were needed. Using Apple Airprint, from an IPad was as simple as selecting the printer from the auto discovery list and send the print job. WiFi printing seemed to have a slight delay in receiving a print job compared to Ethernet printing but, at no point did I have to wait more than 15 second for the print job to start. Printing Quality/speed – This printer really surprised me, the quality of colored images on standard paper was awesome, my letterheads really stood out being in color, and images had no smearing or bleeding of colors. By time the page was out of the printer even on full page color, it was safe to touch with no excessive wet ink. Duplex pages were printed with ease, speed of single or double-sided while not as fast as a laser jet printer, still had an impressive 10-14 pages per minute in my usage. Features – I love the ability to send files via an email address to the printer. This make printing out work attachments so quick and easy when away from the house. It took a few minutes to setup the email printing but was well worth the efforts. In the past I have not really used the full ability of printers, the simplistic nature of this printer really pulled me into all of its features. Scanning pages to email and network folders is great and really has helped my productivity. I do not fax but having the option there is still nice as it is still a heavily used method with some businesses. Main draw backs – LCD size on unit is too small, while you don’t need to use it much other than during the setup it is difficult to read and use at only 3”. Power cable is not a standard C13 (computer/monitor) style cable, if you damage the included cable you need to find the same specific style they used. Overall – This is a solid printer that I would not hesitate to recommend to others needing both small office and personal color printing needs. It is not a typical inkjet printer that has a higher cost per page to use, its feature rich that meets the needs of most and in all honestly was nitpicking to find the two main drawbacks I listed above. I’ve found a great replacement for my trusty B/W MFP I had for the past 7yrs. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flawless! Best printer I've used! The Epson Eco Tank ET-4850 was a wonderful surprise for this home office user. It is compact, quiet and the easiest functioning printer I have ever used. The setup is, without doubt, the most seamless and fastest you can imagine. I have read and listened to reviews about the EcoTank instead of ink cartridges and was doubtful about the results. Well, doubt no more. Everything you hear about this compact beautyis the truth. Let me tell you what I experienced. First, this all-in-one came packed in a great sturdy box with really secure packaging inside so that the printer would not shift or move during shipping. It came out of the box easily and was surprisingly light compared to my previous Epson WF-3740 that was a true workhorse. Setup with the easy to read instructions and the Epson app was amazingly simple. I must admit that when I first started the download and connection to my home network, I expected a long process that had been my experience in the past. This was so quick I was amazed. The speed of this ink jet printer is about the best I've seen. It has the capability of duplex printing and does it quickly and effortlessly. The ink bottles are a game changer. I was a bit apprehensive at first. However, this was about the easiest process I could imagine. Each color ( black, cyan, yellow and magenta) each came in a separate bottle. Here's best part: each one of them has a specifically designed nozzle that will only fit it's corresponding color, so you can't screw it up! YAY! The bottle automatically empties itself into the tank which has a window on the front so you always know your ink levels. Now to printing which was amazing. The print quality was crisp, bright and very high definition. The photos were just the best I have ever printed and my husband (amateur photographer) was tickled pink with the results. His still life photos had depth and clarity that heretofore had never printed so beautifully. Kudos to the print quality. The scanner is great. It worked so easily and produced such high quality results I was truly impressed. Scanning either to print, the cloud or to save to memory all went off without a hitch. It scanned with far more detail than I have had before. The copier is just the best, I have to say. With the number of copies that I have to make on a weekly basis for my class and groups, I can't ask for a better copier. Just as the scanning and printing, the copies come out clear and crisp. Works for me. The touchscreeen display is bright and the presets help with and easy flow of the tasks. It takes you from step to step through the setup and for whatever task you need to complete with this little gem of an all-in-one Epson ET-4850. No more ink cartridges for me! Rated 4 out of 5 by from It prints great! Hello! I received this printer about 4 days ago, and was so excited! This brand is excellent, and I hope it lives up to all the hype. First off, I was just expecting a simple printer, but this is a printer not only prints, but also copies, faxes, and scans! How great is that? I must say, the set-up has been a bit frustrating, as I had a crazy hard time connecting the printer to wifi. Our wifi is xfinity wifi, and I usually don't have a problem connecting devices. Once I finally had it properly connected to wifi (I first had to use wifi-direct for it to even recognize the wifi), I had issues connecting the printer to my laptop. Our laptop is a Dell running Windows 10 and it should be compatible with the laptop just fine. So... I will continue to troubleshoot with the printer and see why it will not work. It recognizes the printer, but continues to just say error. It prints fine from my phone. *This is a review for the Epson EcoTank ET-4850 Wireless Color Supertank Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FINALLY THE END OF INK cartridges. EcoTank ET-4850 Wireless printer is a solid product. everything right from the start was FOOL PROOF. The app was very easy to use for set up. filling the ink tanks was very easy. the only real issue during setup was the wireless. i did not have trouble connecting the printer to the network. But struggled trying to print wirelessly. Totally my error iPad was connected to wrong network. Print quality was very good . Balck and white was crisp. Color was decent. The only complaint or issue I have with this printer is, not the fastest when printing color. Not really a big deal. I would definitely recommend this printer. I am very curious how long the ink will last?“This is a review for the Epson EcoTank ET-4850 Wireless Color Supertank Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from EcoTank is Incredible. Believe the HYPE. Love this Printer. I will be the first to admit that I had heard of EcoTank, but always thought it was some kind of marketing gimmick. I had heard ads on NPR about Epson EcoTank and how it can save you on dozens of ink cartridges. I thought “why would Epson want to destroy their profits by selling fewer cartridges”? I was a doubter. After having used the Epson ET-4850 for the past two weeks, I can tell you BELIEVE THE HYPE. EcoTank really is a game-changer, when I opened that box and saw these generous four large bottles of ink, I was blown away. It was way more than I imagined, and for the first time in a long time with a printer, I was excited. I could print color pages without “ink anxiety”. In years past, I would never print things in color because it was only for emergencies, it was too precious and rare to use my color ink. Now that anxiety is slowly fading away. **Love about the ET-4850** Easy to fill ink bottles. At first sight of the Ink bottles, I was intimidated, I was worried they would leak everywhere and it was going to be a huge mess. Anyone who has bought a bottle of ink and tried to refill a standard ink cartridge in a printer knows what I am talking about. These EcoTank bottles are pretty much idiot-proof. They have special fit nozzles that only open when put into the correct slot on the printer, you are not going to get ink on your hand or table or anything. Plus each color has a specially shaped nozzle so you can’t mess them up and get the wrong color ink in the wrong tank. It is so easy and with zero mess. I love EcoTank. Printing quality. Wow, the quality of what I was able to print off was simply astonishing. I printed some very high-definition drawings and you could not even see the pixels, my wife thought I had taken pages out of a professionally printed book. They look that good. I have never owned a printer that was able to print to the very edge of a paper, with zero borders and this thing can do it flawlessly, and it looks incredible. I haven’t had the chance to print off any photos yet, but I imagine they would look just as good. In terms of print quality, just outstanding. 5 out of 5. Speed. For an inkjet printer and the high quality of the images, I was very impressed. Make no mistake this is not a laser printer, so don’t come expecting laser printer speeds. But the speed with which it prints images is pretty good, and for home use with a family or even a small office, this is a great printer. Just don’t go expecting to print off large batches of documents with minutes to spare. Amazing scanning. This printer has the best scanner I have ever owned. For years I have used the scanner on my Brother laser printer for scanning. I know am thinking about rescanning all those old photos over again because this scanner is just that much better. I’m just blown away at the super high resolution and color accuracy of the scans. The best scanner I could have asked for. Connectivity. I was able to initially set up the printer entirely from my iPhone. Was able to add it to my wifi network and follow the onscreen instructions in the Epson app to fill the ink and do some printing tests. It worked really well. Once it was on my wifi network, I was able to use Apple AirPrint from my iPhone to print directly to the printer with no additional setup. I love it. Physical Pinter. The printer is a good size, it’s not going to overtake your desk, but you would be best putting it on its own shelf. I have the write version, so I hope the plastic does not yellow over the years, if you place it near a window, you may want to get the black version. The scanner, buttons, and hinges feel very solid. The touch screen is not a capacitive touch screen like you know from your phones or iPad, it uses the older resistive touch screen technology. That being said, it still works pretty well and responds to my touches and I am able to use the UI with one finger. Just don’t go in expecting iPhone-level touch controls. The paper tray takes a 1/2 ream of paper, which is decent. I would have preferred a full ream of paper, but that would have added about another inch to the high of the machine. Seeing as this is not a laser printer, 250 sheets is going to last you a long time. **Room for Improvement** Connectivity and apps. To put it bluntly, connecting the printer to outside services like Dropbox is a pretty clunky experience. It can’t be done on the Printer Screen itself, or on the Printer App, you have to print off a physical paper on the printer that gives you a special password, and then you have to go to some other Epson website outside the app to find setup the service. It’s not very seamless and really has some serious room for improvement. I was confused about the process and nearly gave up after 20 minutes. Epson does not make it easy having so many different apps in the App Store. Scanner Presets. Another thing I would love to see is saved presets for Scanning on the printer. The scanner is fantastic and very high quality, but every time I want to go in and scan a photo, I have to changes it from PDF to JPEG and change all number of other settings on the printer. I really wish there was an ability to save a preset of settings for “Scan Photo” or “Scan Document” Ink tank LEDs. On the box, the actual tank for the EcoTank looks really colorful and vibrant. In reality, the windows on the tank are very muted and dark. This is a very minor complaint, but one that I would love to see regardless. That is, I would love to see an LED light in the back of the EcoTank so you can clearly see the different colors of ink and their levels. This is a review for the Epson EcoTank ET-4850 All-in-one printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Notes:

1 Actual savings and costs will vary considerably based on print tasks, print volumes and usage conditions. Savings and cost per ISO page are based on the cost of replacement ink bottles and the cost of enough standard cartridges to achieve the total page yields of the bottles using the MSRP (USD) and yields for Epson standard-capacity ink cartridges for similarly featured Epson consumer inkjet printers as of October 2020.
2 Part of the ink from the included bottles is used for initial setup; yields are lower than those of replacement ink bottles. Replacement and included ink bottle yields based on the ISO/IEC 24712 pattern with Epson’s methodology. Actual ink yields will vary considerably for reasons including images printed, print settings, temperature and humidity. Yields may be lower when printing infrequently or predominantly with one ink color. All ink colors are used for printing and printer maintenance, and all colors must be available for printing. 3 Individual cartridges estimate based on print yields of a replacement set of black and color ink bottles as compared to Epson standard-capacity ink cartridges for similarly featured printers as of October 2020.
