Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product!! Love the compact ability and light features. Quailty. How fast the battery charges depends on the power source, and, like many other recent portable models, the ES-300WR will run and charge from AC or USB power sources at the same time. Epson told me that when the scanner is in use, the battery charges from AC outlets in just a couple hours; USB 3.0 takes about four hours, and USB 2.0 needs around 20 hours. The scanner charges faster, of course, when it's turned off. Epson doesn't claim a specific per-page battery life rating, but I scanned hundreds of pages on a single charge during my testing. Well thought out Traveling Companion. Like that you can use either Wi-Fi or USB connectivity. Job well done EPSON !!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Scanner This review is of the Epson WorkForce ES-300WR Accounting Edition document scanner. There are several things about this printer that I think make it stand out. First, the footprint of this scanner is great - for a small office or home use, it can sit on the desk, conveniently located but not be in the way. Secondly, I love the "no wires" option. While most of the time I use it while it's plugged in, if I'm working in another room and need to bring it with me I just pull the cord out of the back and pick it up. The fact that it connects to my wireless so that I don't have yet another cord coming out of my laptop or dock is really nice. Lastly, the "accounting edition" software works amazingly well. It scans the receipt and pre-populates fields regarding that receipt allowing me to categorize and sort things how I want. That's not to say it doesn't have issues - since it recognizes text, I don't know why it can't auto rotate the scan if a receipt is put it upside down, instead it still tries to pre-populate the accounting fields and it does a very poor job in that case. It is well made and doesn't seem flimsy. I have a little trouble opening it up with the latch they provide. I occasionally have issues with receipts not feeding thru correctly and crinkling inside the machine. It happened a couple of times at the very beginning of my testing out the device and was very frustrating since the receipts it did it on seemed clean, flat and not expected to get stuck. Since then it has worked pretty well although it still jams occasionally. At this point I've scanned in about 40 receipts as well as many full-size documents. Overall, I recommend this product as a nice daily use receipt scanner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quite Fast and Easy Scanning and Organization I have used other Epson Scanners in the past including fast photo and all in one printer scanner fax machines. That being said, right out of the box I was interested in the prospect of having a portable scanner to take to jobs for use with my laptop. The WorkForce ES-300WR portable scanner is light compact and easy to use. Setup was easy to follow and I was up and running in just a few minutes. Connecting through WIFI makes this scanner very portable. Scanning multiple documents was fast even with different size original documents, receipts, and even business cards.. Single or 2 sided scanning was super-fast and very quiet. Battery life was impressive when traveling around to different jobsites. I would definitely recommend this scanner as quality, size, and battery life was all 5 star. The ease of use makes the WorkForce ES-300WR the right choice to organize your life! This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-300WR wireless scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressive scanner When I got this scanner I thought it was going to be another gadget that would be difficult in setting it up and getting it started. Thankfully, it turns out I was wrong. I’m truly impressed and really excited. Setting it up was a breeze. Just select the mode ( USB, WiFi,or Direct) to connect to your wireless network. From your tablet, computer or smartphone use the app to configure and use the scanner. It can be used wired or wireless. It had all the cables and power supply needed to get it done quick. It’s portable, lightweight and like I said quick set up. It has a battery built in. Once I had everything set up, it was time to start scanning. Scanning is what I did. This little machine is great. Quickly scanning in color or black/white. It can do 2sided as well. I also was sending some of the files to my smartphone and some to just save on computer. You can truly do it all. Time saving! You can even scan business cards, without causing the cards to bend or get stuck. The scans are clear. You can read the little print from gas receipts, etc. Able to save files in searchable files for a later date. In the end this scanner is definitely worth it. Im really looking forward to using my scanner and the easy processing it offers. “This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-300WR Wireless Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Scanner! I absolutely LOVE this scanner. It is so easy to use and set up. It took about 3 minutes to set this scanner up, I just opened the box and followed the instructions. The wi fi was a little bit tricky, but once I got it figured out it was a breeze. I also love the ability that I can scan documents of all sizes even those little pesky receipts. This scanner also comes with a cord so I can attach it to any computer and scan directly there if I have having difficulties with wifi and can get a pristine image of my documents. Every image is perfect and never seem to have to re-scan. The scanner is light weight and durable and makes it easy to travel, I just throw it in my bag and take it with me. I love that it is portable. I highly recommend this scanner for anyone who does a high-volume of scanning and does various types of scanning as well. Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Very Good Portable Scanner for Mobile Workflow Bottom Line: The Epson WorkForce ES-300WR delivers near-desktop quality scanning in a compact, portable format. Pros: Fast ADF duplex document scanning, easy card and receipt scanning, convenient physical switches and buttons, cloud service integration Cons: Doesn’t quite deliver a “post-PC” experience, scans are often off-center, concerns about long-term durability Review: I still receive a lot of paper (work documents, mail, receipts, etc.) during the day, but I’ve found that neither desktop scanning or mobile app scanning (i.e., taking pictures) are particularly convenient. In short, desktop scanning doesn’t match my modern, mobile workflow (I do a good amount of work on an iPad Pro) and app scanning is too slow/cumbersome for more than a page or two. As a result, I tend to end up with a big pile of documents that need to scanned sitting on my desk, so I was very excited to integrate portable scanning into my regular workflow. Mobile setup was pretty simple. There’s a connection switch on the side of the unit, which allows you to set the scanner to wired (USB), WiFi, or AP mode (AP created a WiFi hotspot to directly connect you device to the scanner). The SSID/PW are printed on a sticker on the unit, so directly connecting my iPad Pro was a breeze. Once the app was installed, I was able to select my scanner and begin my scanning session. The mobile app is pretty basic. You can scan documents or review your files that are saved in the app, which can then be easily exported to storage, email, etc. via the share tab. The scan menu gives your basic options such as changing the dpi, single or duplex scanning, and the ability to ignore blank pages. Duplex scanning was fast from the ADF, which is one of the flagship features of this device. It’s definitely on par with the speed of desktop scanners, which is fantastic in a mobile unit. The scanner is fairly compact, weighing in at just under 3 pounds. You can charge the unit’s battery with the the included AC adapter or USB cable, which the instructions say should take around 3 hours for a full charge over AC or USB 3.0. The scanner also has a series of handy buttons and indicator lights for its various settings, which I strongly prefer to software managed controls. For instance, switching to plastic card scanning mode allows to feed the card directly into the scanner rollers rather than trying to pull it through the ADF, which folds up nicely over the front of the unit. You can, of course, unlock the full potential of features if you connect the scanner to a computer and use Epson’s scanning software, which enables OCR, Excel and accounting exports, etc. Anyone in the market for a good desktop AND portable scanner will really like this unit, although I should note that the maximum paper width is just a hair over 8.5”. Additionally, the scanner is still very much a connected device, relying on either a computer or mobile device to work. It would have been great if the scanner had some onboard memory, so you could scan and save documents to the unit and download them to your device later. I do, however, have two minor issues. First, my scans are often - ever so slightly - off center. This can be corrected by being very careful with paper loading, but if you’re just casually placing a stack in the scanner, my scans tend to be a little crooked. It’s not a huge deal, but it is annoying. Second, the latch that holds the ADF in place when the unit is closed is held by a flimsy piece of gray plastic. Whenever I pick the unit up (I tend to place my hand around the center of the unit), I feel like the ADF is going to break loose, which makes me nervous about its long term durability. Still, I’m very pleased with the scanner and intend to start bringing it to meetings so I can scan documents as I get them rather than collect them for a scanning session back at the office. “This is a review for the Epson WorkForce ES-300WR Wireless Document Scanner that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.”

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well After using this scanner for a couple weeks I can say it is excellent for any home office or business. It makes scanning documents, receipts, business cards and other loose documents a snap. The scanner includes software to convert documents to editable/searchable documents. So far my experience with this feature is that it works pretty well and the OCR works as good or better than others out there. For receipts, in particular, I like it because it can identify dates, amounts and other key pieces of information so making it easier to categorize and process/save them in my accounting software. Overall, it works very well, is very easy to use, and is perfect for certain kinds of scanning. Initial set-up was mostly trouble-free. The scanner has a battery so it can be used without a nearby electrical connection once charged up, which takes about an hour initially. It can be charged through a USB 2 or 3 port, but the whole beauty of this thing is that it connects to your wireless network so that it can be located anywhere within range of the network. Once you get this document scanner set up and running, it works great. And, if you're like me, you have lots and lots of paper documents taking up lots and lots of room. Once you've converted them to data files, you can shred the paper files and turn them into confetti. I am in love with this Wireless Document Scanner. I can setup my laptop and the scanner in an instant and scan what I need without any hassel. The Scan quality was exceptional I had no isseus reading any of my scanned reciepts or business cards.
