Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Memorial Tribute Photo Scanner We used this scanner to scan 200 photos for our dad's memorial tribute video. What we thought was going to be endless hours on our flatbed scanner, turned out to be 10 minutes including installation. The Scanning portion took all of 3 minutes, if that. And we were the funeral home in charge of arrangements. Now, this photo scanner will be used to assist other families in their time of need.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good mechanically. Scan Quality not so much. I bought this scanner because I thought it would save time. It doesn't really. I would buy a quality flatbed scanner that also does 35mm and medium format negatives if I could do it over. The machine feeds and scans reliably and the automatic image enhancement works well. However, you need to use the 1200dpi setting to reduce the amount of noise in the image. Even then, there is a lot of noise in the scan making a poor enlargement of a cropped image. A 3x5 inch JEG is 25MB so another photo processing program is needed to compress it to a reasonable size of 1 or 2MB. I use a freeware utility for this so Epson could have cheaply included this in their software. Even though this machine can feed photos very quickly, it can take a long-ish time for the software to process and save the results; about 15 minutes for a roll of 36 35mm photos on my 11 year old Centrino Duo laptop. A fast PC would probably perform much better. Not a big deal for me but Epson doesn't mention this additional processing time in their advertising. I was expecting the scanner to do this processing on the fly at this price point. Additional time is required for any post processing if you do the JPEG compression.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Speed! I bought this Epson FastFoto scanner to scan my 40 plus years of personal photos I have had stored in bins for all these years. It is an amazing scanner! It packs great speed for such a small unit. Easy to use and does a great job. I am very satisfied!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for a large amount of pictures I recently came into several hundred family photos dating back to the 1920's. In order to easily share with other family members I decided to digitize the photos. This scanner makes it much easier to scan large numbers of pictures and organize them. It doesn't do well with pictures on stiff cardboard as many of the older photos were mounted, but it is easy to scan those on my other flat scanner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as Advertized I have had the photo copier for a little over a month. I got it for the specific purpose of scanning in photos from 1979 and on. In a short period I have scanned around 2K photos and it has worked fine. It is easy to clean and the images are good. The ONLY issue I had was the driver download location was not correct on the instructions. It was easy to find for me - I just went to the Epsom website and it was available there. That may have been more of a hurdle to someone else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made an impossible job easy! We wanted to purge the house of our photo albums, as they had taken over. We began with a scanning app on our phones. This distorted some pictures and also had some reflection issues. The time it took to do a handful of pictures was also too long. After researching home scanners, we decided to make the investment with the FastFoto. This has made the process fast and painless, and the scanned photos look great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact Design and Superior Quality Scanner Recently purchased this item after doing extensive research. Several stores listed this as out of stock so I purchased directly from Epson. This scanner and associated software make it simple to scan photos and documents. We have a lot of pictures and documents to scan to preserve memories. Cost associated with professional companies to scan photos are outrageous. The Epson FastFoto is modestly priced, easy to setup and install the software, and is very compact.
