Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast and high quality scans I bought this to scanner to preserve some antique photos - the scanner was extremely fast (even saving at 600 dpi), the quality of the scans was fantastic, and the machine treated these photos gently enough that it did not damage them in the least. The option to save an enhanced version of the photo without manually tweaking it in photo editing software, as well, is a bonus. I am extremely pleased with this purchase and recommend it for anyone looking to archive photos.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does an amazing job In the past month I have scanned over 2000 photos that were simply sitting in boxes in the basement for decades. You do need to do your homework, like looking at the pictures, making "piles" for them so you can name them, look for duplicates etc. The scanner is good but garbage in and you get garbage out. I ended up with over 30 different categories for my stuff, and I could still refine things better now. But once the pictures have been put into order and put into piles or bundles with them oriented for scanning, it went by so fast! This thing took everything I had and scanned it and mistreated or damaged nothing. It honestly took me much longer to sort them than to scan them. And the software did a great job orienting and fixing up. The post scan work was easy enough and necessary anyway. And it's been useful for scanning other things from the household.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from T'was a life saver I had inherited all of the pictures my mother had taken over the years (about12,000). I would have cost an arm and leg and some other body parts to hire someone to do this. I am so happy I ofund the FastFoto FF-680W. I spent about a week scanning photos and the quality was superb. I owuld definitely recommend this product to friends, in fact I have already done it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great solution to protect your memories from Photos But So far I have scanned over 800 photos and pictures look great but there are 2 noticeable faint verticap lines on some scan images which are noticeable. I have cleaned all mechanisms with micro-fiber clock after every 30 photos and some scans are ok and others have the two faint lines. Appearance of the lines seems to be related to the way the photo traverses thru the scanner and not cleanliness issue. If this is the case Epson should employ some software to scan image for vertical white line detection and fillin the pixels with color to match voids. Photoshop can fix the photo and I assume Epson software could. As it is I will have to post-process the scanned images. No matter of cleaning removes the lines.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Scans WAY too dark! I have followed instructions to change the brightness settings. The preview of the changed settings shows a perfect scan. However, when I scan the original again, it comes out just a dark as it did originally!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Convoluted Setup It was a serious pain to set up this scanner. In fact, I have yet to get it to work after hours of working on it, and I'm no novice at this kind of thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing little scanner - super fast and great quality scans I purchased this about 2 months ago and I am very pleased with both the speed, the ease of use and the great scans. The automatic enhancements to photos are terrific and I like the ability to capture writing on the back of the prints as part of the process (you can easily turn that option on when you have photos with notes on back). This scanner went way beyond my expectation and if you have a ton of old photos like I do, this is the way to scan them, fast and accurate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I do some slides for friends and family for birthdays. I have done 4 this year parents for their kids 18th birthday. Scanning photos has never been easier. The quality is very good with a great enhancement feature. After understanding how the folders can be organized, the organization of photos became a very pleasant feature. Scanning documents is very fast. As I understand it though, you only can scan a document as a picture. Thats okay for archiving. All in all, I really like this machine.
