Rated 3 out of 5 by from 3rd time a charm? When this AIL works, it is terrific. When it starts to have issues, not so much... we have had it replaced under the warranty twice in 2 years. It fits our needs and covered by the warranty, so we'll let y'all know in another few months

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy Set-Up Just purchased and set this machine up so I have only a few comments and is why I gave only 4 stars. Set up was super easy. Test prints and copying was super easy. The machine is a little larger than I thought but it takes up much less space than an individual scanner and individual printer would. I like the variety of controls and so far so good!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Purchase I hate this printer it cause so much money and I cannot print from my iPad or my iPhone this is such a waste

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A couple gotchas, but overall a good printer I bought this printer over a month ago and I've been putting it through its paces since then. Right out of the box, I wasn't ready for how much room it takes up. That was my fault as the box was accurate for sizes, but I didn't consider room on the back for single-sheet feeder, which I use a fair bit. CON: The 16500 won't double-side card stock, or photo paper. Wish I knew that when I bought it. I do lots of double-sided printing and now I have to print one side, then hope I don't mess up coordinating printing on the other side. I've wasted a lot of paper on that so far. Bought the printer for 3 features - eco tank ink, 2 paper trays, and 11x17 printing. PRO:INK:So far eco tank is "set it and forget it". I've been printing over 500 pages of all sizes, heaving on ink, and I still have over 2/3 of the ink left, with no need to clean nozzles, etc. The 2 paper trays are nice, but I've been using about 6 types of paper lately so I find I am still always swapping out paper. The default paper types you set on the printer when you change the paper isn't as exhaustive as I'd like - for example presentation matte is there, but not presentation glossy. So far I'm figuring it out, but as with other features I'm wasting paper and ink to figure things out. CON: 11x17 printing is not as easy as I'd hoped. The paper tray sticks way out when set up for 11x17, making it easy to bump when walking by. 11x17 cardstock has to be fed throught single sheet feeder at back, and won't double-side so that has to be done manually as well. Way more time consuming that I had hoped for this price. PRO: Print quality is good - no streaks or lines. If printing on regular paper, easily see the dots. But if printing on glossy (photo or presentation paper), its much smoother and closer to laser printing. However, it is NOT laser printing - if you are expecting top notch laser comparable quality, it is not that - you are better off getting a good laser printer. I have not used the scanner or fax yet. To sum it up, if I was to do it over again, I'd go for the smaller model that also handles 11x17 but at 1/2 the price. I will be keeping my printer and continuing to use it for things from family photos, to glossy instruction manuals, to posters, and even board game prototypes (manuals, boxes, cards, game bits, and more).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for me! I love this guy. I can print large format color for a fraction of what I paid before.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The little niggles that annoy After 9 months, overall we are pleased with the Epson ET-16500. There are a number of annoying glitches, however: there have been times when it stops printing in the middle of a job with no error indication and no way of getting it to continue. quite a number of times while ADF scanning a sizeable number of pages, it gives the message "unable to communicate with device" (or similar). The wireless signal is "Excellent" (the wireless repeater being only a dozen feet away). The scanned material must be in the 16500 memory but there is no way of recovering it so you have to start over. the narrowest setting for ADF scanning is A5. While you can scan letter half-page one or two-sided with that setting, it will cut of the top/bottom of some pages. Why didn't they support half-page? Nor can you scan cheques ... I am making a jig that fits in to scan these "lieing" that they are A5 (also usable for printing cheques). In scanning double-side you have to set double-side then use that menu item again to specify whether top or left side rotation; poor UI design (as is the scanning software in general when compared to the old EpsonScan version 3 that came with the GT-15000 for example. The menu also allows you to chose incompatible options but it then changes them without warning to something compatible. If you use the Edit after scanning, and click the X to close, the default is to discard the images (cancel); it should be to save. The constant reminder "check ink levels" every time you turn on the printer seems unnecessary -- what do you do if the actual ink levels don't correspond to what the software shows? Have not been able to find matching colour spaces between the monitor & printer; ICM differs materially. changing temporarily from wireless to RJ-45 connection and back involves going through setup each time; which is a pain with complex ID's and passwords (although it can usually be done on a PC). Installation: I downloaded the most recent installation software, but nevertheless it still does a further download during setup. Having to do this for each PC, for each system on multi-boot PC's, as well as each virtual machine (VM) on each system has taken a lot of time since it does a further download of about 250 megabytes, or, in some cases I know not why, closer to a gigabyte. Living in the country where ADSL is limited to 2496 kbps this is slow; and should be unnecessary! The quick edit of scanned images that allows you to rotate them (left or right 1/4 turn; why not half turn?) is very useful.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to setup and use Glad I bought the ET-16500, only complaint is lack of print resolution settings.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Still an execlent Co, but a few suggestions from a membver o After I received my 2nd unit (1st printer arrived looking liked box had lost a fight with a ticked off Grizzly bear) I only have 1 comment & I don\t know if things were done this wat for ink preservation or ink life reasons. Being legally blind, the overly opaque'ness of the tank's makes filling (or not over-filling the tank) hard to determine

Rated 4 out of 5 by from AWESOME WHILE IT LASTED It served me quite well while it lasted. I hate that it reached its life span. I did lots of heavy duty printing with graphics and photos. Quality came out awesome. I'm so glad that I had a warranty. It was not fixable so the Warranty reimburse me for what I paid for it. I'm happy. I really like Epson printers. I plan to replace the printer. I use it a lot in my home business. Its an inkjet with laser quality.
